I hope to do some more sewing today as it's the only day Im not working this wk :(
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

    Morning all

Actually managed to get some sewing done at last and made some placemats and a table runner using up some of my scraps of fabric (photos on my blog). I have lots more scraps sorted out into colours to make some more runners. I am going up town later to see if I can find some plain fabric to use with the scraps.

I have managed to make a purse and a small tote bag, that has been cut out for ages, but the morning has already gone and I have to stop to go and collect DGD so thats the end of todays makes. Howcome some days I can wizz off about 6 in the same time I have no idea.

Sorry about the ! in the last message about makes.
My Dil is thinking of buying some IKEA fabric for curtains.....which I will make when I visit them in October half term. Question - I can't see pattern repeat details for the fabric on the IKEA site - does anyone know where they put this detail please? As it is - I like to measure up for curtains that I am to make - can't as they live up in Nottingham. I was planning to visit them in the HT hol - for spending time with Grandchildren and relaxation - not sewing. Oh well.....have to sing for my supper. I spent all last October HT hol sewing curtains for another child.......someone remind me why I gave birth to six!

thank you, i will save that. i made some bunting to go with the quilts today but wrapped them up and forgot to take a photo.

i used white felt then a smaller triangle to lay over the top using moda birdie fabric (i used the yellows, greens white colourways,)sewed it all together with white bias binding added some felt layered flowers on the end with button centres a brass rings to make them easier to hang.

i used 5 flags and made them just over 1mtr long

    they looked fine

Noob Mum I love those bags!!! So creative.
Everyone's makes are fab :) I really need to have a go at using a sewing machine, however at the moment I am enjoying my hand sewing projects, I've made some more Russian Dolls this week -

    Abatha your dolls are lovely.
How about making a sock monkey? I haven't made one myself but I know they can be hand sewn successfully. There's a whole thread about them.
