the idea is to keep up the decluttering once you have done the initial blitz, that way hopefully we wont be doing the same things on next years thread
Great post but just in case anybody panics, I am a hoarder by nature and have been intending to declutter for years. I am aiming to make my home more presentable with more room to move around but realistically I think that I may well be on this thread for years to comePlease do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

I have decided not to make the trip in to work today. We live in cul-de-sac and the loop round around the estate does not get gritted. I am not 100% confident driving in it. But it is all the other nutters on the road that scare me. You know the type who don't clear window screens properly. Have no lights on and come zooming up your backside.
I have a couple of hours work that I can do from work. Will get started in a minute
Anyway don't think much decluttering will be done today. Anyway kitchen 90% tidy (until I go and make lunch :rotfl:)
In: Nothing so far
Out: recycling out in to the boxes. One bag of rubbish made it to the bin.
Upwards and upwards :rotfl:
Everyone take care in the snow.

Hi, can I join in too? I've been lurking for a while and reading all the posts (took a long time - you are all doing so well!) and I have now decided to take the plunge.
I have joined the Thrifty Gifty forums and one challenge on there was to make £50 on Ebay in January, so with that in mind I have listed some stuff and think I have made that amount now (but not quite if I add in fees and postage etc - still it's a start.)
Today I have ventured into the girls room and had a good tidy up - can now see the floor and the beds! I had to make some room for DD1's new toys etc from her birthday on Monday. Everything has been sorted out into the correct box.
IN: Letter for DH
Scope charity bag (which I will fill with some of the stuff decluttered today!)
OUT: 2 Ebay parcels
1 bag of rubbish from the girls room (broken toys, bits of stuff and old cards etc)

my lounge looks like a bombs hit it:o
i decided to shred the paper that had been stuffed into the shredder box then went onto the box file which was so full it couldnt be closed properly and you could never find what you were looking for box file is now condensed down and there are 3 brown bags of shredded paper out on the front:T so ive now got the files spread all over the settees and am going through the letter racks which got stuffed with things that wouldnt fit in the file. The plan is that by the time the kids come home from school the letter racks will be down to 1 and the box file will be neatly filled with all items in correct files. well thats the plan anyway.
