Sorry all I have not done anything for a week.
In my defence for some of that time we have been running to and fro the vets with an older cat with breathing problems and might be suffering from a heart condition. That and I am easily distracted especially by snow.:rotfl:Put the kettle on.0 -
My OH is outside, up a ladder, decluttering the ice from our gutters and downpipes:eek:
Meanwhile,

A bag of decorative marbles that were sitting in a vase. Vase has been washed and put under the sink.
3 empty bubble mix bottles.
A box of paints and brushes - however kids have seen these have earmarked them for after lunch.
This is quite cathartic! Coming here and writing it all down makes you more accountable.0 -

I would if they where not broken  I only buy tend to buy new when things break. But I am starting to look at a new washing even though mine is only 2 and bit years old. On off button has stopped working so have to resort to unplugging it from the wall now. And I also want a bigger drum size even though there are only two of us. I want an LG one that is 11KG but nearly £800
Husband works in a charity shop and has done a PAT testing course so I know they take electrical stuff. Thanks for the suggestion though. Anything that I can I recycle with the family otherwise to the charity shop and last pit stop being the bin or the tip.
Anyway for me today.
In: 2 X lots of same junk mail  one local freebie news paper
Out: Dust from under my bed as I tidied the whole room:jand managed to free up a storage box. A magazine and some rags added to the charity shop carrier bag. Which is still pending.
Also pending still the cardboard and plastic and kettle and toaster for the tip.

Hello all
Just to say I'm still reading through this thread and will catch up eventually!
Today In: A few groceries (I buy food most days!)
Out: A bag of clothes to local charity shop - a pair of too big trousers and a rugby shirt and some of DD2's clothes.
Also 3 large wine glasses. We are reformed characters these days - me and OH don't drink and nobody else wants to use large glasses so they have gone. I keep looking at the space they've left and thinking oooh space! Next job is to clean the cupboard they came out of and edit mugs.
I could get into this!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Hi, Everyone
Quick update - DH and I worked on the kitchen today to try and clear and organise the cupboards and also to try and move some of the things off the counter.
Counter is looking much better and the cupboards are a lot more organised. Lots of old stuff into the bin/recycling (and the birds - hopefully - if they start eating the just out of date raisens). Drinks dispenser - which was rather good for the children in the summer but can get a bit messy and took up way too much space in the cupboard has gone to the charity shop along with about 20 plastic beakers, a recipe folder (not sure if I have mentioned that before though). Charity shop would only take half of the videos - so still have three bags in the boot of the car. Tried another charity shop but someone, had minutes before, dropped off two bin liners of videos - I was so tempted to ask if they were MSE declutterers!
Oh and also the broken sandwich maker and blender have also gone. DH has popped out so he may be bringing one back as I have a £25 John Lewis voucher that I won early last year so I thought it might be the ideal time to declutter that and replace the blender.
Anyway - need to get on and do something with the bedroom. Hope to report back more successes later.
Best Wishes and keep at it

OUT: MIL back home to the snowy south east after her Christmas holiday.
IN: Resolve, life finally back to normal, time to start decluttering.
OUT: All the surplus margarine tubs etc clogging up the cupboard because I'm sure to need them all one day.
Now off to catch up with the thread - I'm still back on page 8!
