  • Morning everyone

Glad to see so many motivated declutterers. Have hit Ebay with a vengeance, have 87 items listed with bids on 11 and watchers on loads more :T

Salesaddict, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Paypal, guess I have just been lucky, I have feedback of over 5,000 and never had any real problems. Maybe you were just very unlucky, anyway if you decide to have another go at Ebay, I'm sure there are lots of us on here who will help you.

Anyway off to work today, so no Ebaying or decluttering.

    Have a good day everyone

Morning...I'm in too...I read this thread a lot last year - although I could never quite work out what my fascination was with what people were bringing in and out of their homes!

Deccluttering started with avengance last year, but there is still more to go. We're staying in our rented flat for at least another year before we can even think about looking at mortgages and whether any are feasible, so the plan is to get rid of as much clutter as I can so one day we'll have less to pack in boxes, and the profits from the stuff I sell is all going into the deposit fund. I've got a nice big box of ebayable stuff sitting in the corner of the room right now...

We've also got a really busy year ahead - OH going back to college, me full time work, finish my PhD, the odd bit of self-employed work on the side too...so I'm dying to have the flat clean and sorted and not be living in chaos...! Good luck everyone...
  • Well last night I have finally managed to get my wardrobe shut after 3 years!

    Out
    4 pairs of shoes
    2 handbags
    Pair of ripped jeans
    10 tops

and 4 bin bags of rubbish so far, more to go to today

  • Count me in as well please. The house in general is not to bad but the main reason for this is that everything just gets chucked in the loft which is now practically overflowing. Time to get it sorted out. My plan is to do a bit every couple of days and chuck, freecycle, ebay, charity shop etc everything I can. It’s going to be a bit of a mammoth task.
Had a quick scout about last night and managed to get rid of a couple of things straight away.

DH is really going to have to pull his finger out this year and actually let go of some rubbish because if he doesn't, I will! *Insert evil laughter here...*

Look forward to sharing the shame over the coming year.

Your OH is so not alone - my OH isn't going to know what's hit him.......or this house.....

Out today: 1 massive bag of CDs to CEX; any they won't take are going to charity. Also out today: 1 pair of jeans being mailed back to online store.

    In: Some food shopping.

Pending out: 1 bag to charity, 1 book to greenmetropolis.com customer.
Pending in: Replacement pair of jeans from online store plus a hard drive I ordered on Amazon and a dress I ordered online a few days ago.

    No mail today.
  • Ok, out today: 1 old bag beyond mend or recycle, some odds and ends I thought would come in handy but never have, an old poster I'd forgotten I'd bought and a load of bottles from a party to the bottle bank. Pending out when a charity bag is full - a make your own opoly set - unused, and a barely used bright pink yoga mat. In addition I've listed a couple of books to sell on Amazon. I feel accomplished!

    In - nothing!

    Hi there,

I'd like to join this thread please :T My house isn't too bad, but we haven't organised our storage properly and some areas are a mess. I haven't filed any paperwork for 12 months  and need to find somewhere sensible for my avon stuff (I'm an avon lady :D) and my craft stuff (don't have much but want to start doing more).

I'm currently working full time, but my contract finishes at the end of January. We're trying for a baby, so the amount of time i'll have will increase for a time when work stops (unless I get another job quickly) but then will hopefully have a baby towards the end of 2010, so will have much less time.....

I'm going to go now and look for tips on where to start...
