I need to join please! Home in need of a major declutter (perhaps I should start with DD and DS, that would make it easier!).
I do try with clothes though, when asked "do you want the hanger" say NO THANK YOU, then you have to take something out of the wardrobe to hang up new item (only works though if you get rid of the old item and don't just fold it up and stick it in a drawer...)
Starting off small I'm going to spend 30 minutes each day sorting out something (and hopefully most of it can go!)0 -

YAY ME. I can officially report that my living room is now free of clutter. Of course, there are some things in here that others may count as clutter but not in my eyes. 1 room down, 7 to go!!!Start Date: 27/11/2010

Have got right in the spirit of this today, sadly not done anything on my to-do list successfully! Have spent best part of the day trying to hook up new dvd recorder in between decluttering and tidying!
Have just been through storecupboard and am ashamed to say there was stuff there going back to 2000! I have cleaned out since then, but obviously wasn't as ruthless as today! Three big bags of stuff goign into bin (when I go outside, probably tomorrow), and that's without looking at the tin mountain! Still, cupboard looks tidy now lol
All in all, quite a successful decluttering day, not such a good cleaning day! Just going to have a quick tidy of the kitchen now, and sort out cd shelves in dining room, may list on play/amazon tonight if I can stay awake long enough, am exhausted!GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

Not had a very eventful day, which is nice. Unfortunately, I've not done any decluttering either, although I have started to pick up my cookbooks to see if there are any I am willing to part with. So far I am giving to charity: Madhur Jaffrey's Curry Bible as I'm not likely to ever get around to using it. A shame, as it all looks fabulously complicated but never mind. I want to see tidy bookshelves again.
So..
In - nothing
Out - recycling and emptied bins (as full of tissues, blech)
1 x cookbook (more to follow)
The 2 bags of clothes I sorted out over the New Year will be taken to a charity shop tomorrow on the way home from work. I must get to doing more decluttering! Have a nice evening, everyone.

I should do this, I always ask for the hangers, especially for trousers as I always seem to be short of them!
I don't know how i've managed to miss this thread, but will join in. I've been quite good since christmas as had time to sort some things out. I bought a shredder so sorted through most of my paperwork already. Also almost finished going through my magazines and taking out the recipes which is the only reason I get them.
I got rid of a thigh trainer on freecycle/freegle today, I must have had it for over 2 years as bought it when I was living at home and have moved twice since then. I don't use it, so hopefully it will be use to someone else.
How do you all go about getting rid of 'old' stuff? I still have a few books and cuddly toys from when I was young that have moved with me and although they don't take up much space, I obviously don't use them anymore, but can't get rid! Maybe I should just put them in a box seperate from everything else, then look at what's left.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

If you could bear to part with any, you could offer them on Freegle/Freecycle. There must be other people out there, like me, who help charities with their fundraising, who would appreciate the soft toys. I've been contacted today by a lady living near me with the offer of some.
It is hard to part with things that you've had since you were young: why not take photos of them to keep for posterity if you need to be rid of them but can't bear to?Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
