Evening all... had a very productive day here! Tidied DD's bedroom cupboard out (it's like the mini evil cupboard) which is now sparkly clean and organised!
OUT: DD's old baby blankets (donated to a friend) emptying a box which is now full of her art supplies, loads of old coat hangers and 6 half empty bottles of contact lense solution.
IN: a fruit bowl (we normally keep it all in the fridge but decided we don't eat as much because it's hidden away so it's a worthwhile buy) and some fruit

Hiya everyone...
Is there room for another little one here ?
I really need some help, motivation, and inspiration to get the clutter sorted - not to mention a definate kick up the proverbiel (sp!!) from time to time ..... ie when I'm on here perusing instead of doing!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Good luck de cluttering everyone! I have to say this is one of my all time fave hobbies with cleaning. haha I am very good at de cluttering (if I say so myself) I used to love tidying and sorting with my mum when younger, and its carried on from there. I mostly give stuff to charity shops, sell in car boot or on ebay.0

Been a bit busy today doing my accounts today yawnnnnnnnnnnnnn
So not much decluttering done
Got OH to get recycling ready as they are coming tomorrow
In
1 1/2 kilos of Seville oranges for marmalade
Out
Carrier bag of cardboard from old work stuff sorted.0 -
Right - thought I had done better than I had but I guess at least I have done something and it's a start.
IN - whatever food OH bought for Sunday Lunch - so not really counting food as it will be used (hopefully)
OUT-
Recycling - Two big blue paper recycling boxes filled with paper and shredding
Bin - One broken dressing up shoe
Charity Bag - One handfree, one recipe folder
I had intended to go round filling one carrier bag as suggested and then I read the post about clearing a small but visible area so I started to clear the rubbish and paperwork that had been piled up under the desk. It was going really well until the OH needed the desk and then I lost momentum (got the bathroom cleaned instead though).
To end on a positive - at least tomorrow I know where I need to start by sorting out:
Videos
Training Manuals
Folders
Two old and poorly computers
Old receipts
All amazingly hidden under the desk!
Thanks to everyone for the posts on this forum - it has really been helping me keep focused. I wonder, someone mentioned photographing what you throw out so you can see how well you are doing. I wonder if I should photograph the rooms as they are now and then end the year seeing what the difference is?£279/£2016 (13.8%)

hiya - a little bit done today:
in: a donated roll of xmas wrapping paper
out: xmas cards and "seen better days/no longer used" decorations.
took down decorations, put them away. used xmas cards to make gift tags, put tags and wrapping paper away, put left over bits of cards in recycling bag. a bit of decluttering and frugality :cool:retirement savings target: £100,000 by 2032 start: £21200 Jun 22, Jun 23:0 -
I haven't posted for a few days because the fledglings have been back in the nest for the holidays and as well has having their company I have also had to queue for a computer. I have been spending time with the family and have still been struggling with a head cold but I have made a little progress:
In A little food, not feeling well enough to buy lots and didn't need much either
Out One carrier bag rubbish from attic, including tinsel not used for years
extra lids from plastic food boxes, we seem to get through more boxes than lids
3 bags of clothes to charity bins in supermarket car park
load of tetra packs to recycling bank
loads of cardboard from under one of the kids beds (empty boxes from things bought in last year and kept in case they needed to be returned)
Out but looking forward to their return ............. all my babies who have returned to their work and studies
Now starting to feel better and trying to read this thread that is really inspiring me. I'm off to read a couple of pages before and early night to prepare for w*** tomorrow.
Best wishes to all empty0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm joining in if thats ok?
I am moving house to a slightly smaller (and cheaper :T) 3 bed in mid may I have a 7 week old baby and a hubby to organise as well as the house.
Need to declutter BEFORE the move to ensure that the smaller house can accomodate us and that things can neatly be unpacked in an organised manner. (i.e. not to leave 10 boxes unpacked in the garage or spare room!)
TODAY:
IN = Milk, bread, fruit & veg. 3 rattle toys for DS from sis in law
OUT = bag of dirty nappies, bag of rubbish including dry wet wipes, free gift wipes case.
RECYCLED = cardboard from DS toys
ORGANISED = All new clothes given to DS for next year into plastic tub.
Just the rest of the house to go lol x2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.
Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(0
