  • Just sorted out my cd shelves - anyone got any ideas what I can do with a pile of really rubbish copied cds? Rubbish as in the content, not the cds themselves!

Can't offer them on freegle, or give to charity shops as they aren't originals, and the cds aren't re-writeable, but I definitely won't use them again (what was I thinking when I bought these?!)

If you grow your own vegetables the CD's can be hung up close to the plants/seedlings and act as good bird scarers as the sun reflects on them, and perhaps you could re-use the cases instead of buying new ones.

Alice-Mary - I put an old dyson and a 3 drawer bedside table out the front of my house yesterday. It was gone by this morning! Saves me a trip to the tip!

Everytime I see one of you getting rid of your books I'm sooooo tempted to ask for them! :o

Wendy, step away from the books! :D I usually find it really difficult to let go of books, but have found two to put in the charity bag.

Since I updated earlier, I have also recycled last year's calendar and filled up my underbed storage box with bags and accessories and put it under the bed. However I now have nowhere to put the two pairs of shoes and two bags full of stuff that were originally under the bed! So, into the spare room they go until my next adventure in decluttering-land!

I am SO not a gatherer of clutter which makes me a tad bored - anyone live close by that would like a hand to get rid of clutter - I think it is great fun and I am a positive person.
Anyone want a hand?? I live in margate!!! cant much further south than that!

    Afternoon all

well a busy day today - I decluttered one of the reception rooms today, well actually it was enforced. We sold our big fish tank on ebay this morning and they picked it up this afternoon - so all four cupboards underneath it had to be cleaned and sorted  However - I HAVE A ROOM BACK :D

    So today IN:

    Nothing :j:j

    Out:

    One poggin huge fish tank
Another box of stuff on freecycle - hyacinth vases and make your own crackers that I know I will never do!
    An iron on freecycle
A black bin bag of rubbish
    Another bag of recycling
Christmas cake - I ate the last of it lol!

I had no intention of doing all of this today I have to be honest - was planning a bit of a mosey around the house, but now that it is done I am chuffed that it is sorted.

Tomorrow I am going to look for one of those really useful boxes for wrapping paper - thanks hypno great idea. This week I aim to put a load of stuff on ebay too, so that should get rid of some more, even DH and DS commented today on how much better the house is looking, so I feel motivated to keep going :T

Well done on reclaiming a room kimitatsu! It always feels fab when such a huge difference can be felt :T

I know what you mean about "enforced action".......we borrowed FiL's luggage trailer several years ago to do a car boot sale (in the days when we only had a little car.......and eventually it ended up being an extension to the *ahem* storage system that we have, (ie fill the garage, shed, loft AND the trailer with stuff that you want out of the house) and has sat in the drive ever since......

SiL is moving house, so sent a text today saying could she have the luggage trailer at the end of the Month. Hurrah - we now have the kick up the bum we need to clear out the trailer of whatever rubbish is in there, and get the eyesore off our drive for EVER :T I don't even know what is in the blooming thing, but whatever it is, it hasn't been missed for the last few years, so can be got rid of somehow, I'm sure!

Oh, and in other news, when I told OH that I had put the decorations back in the loft, his response was "we really need to clear some of the crap out of that loft".

I nearly fainted with the shock that he might be on board with the decluttering lark :rotfl:
