I have a lot more books than that! And I *really* wish my mother would take some of my stuff - whats actually happened is that I've inspired her to declutter, and she's found a couple of big envelopes of letters I wrote, and given them to me!

lol! Scan them in so that they're not lost forever and recycle? - a cd-r takes up much less room :D

Books - the bane of my life as well as my greatest pleasure!

I actually disposed of over 500 books (somewhere in the depths of this thread) by giving all my university text books to the university and the rest to the local hospital for WRVS library and/or book stall. The only ones left are the emotional ones!

My mother doesn't actually 'take' my stuff :o I put them in her house!! We are constantly exchanging stuff, just like your mother mine found an envelope of my school reports (years of them), childhood innoculation records and every postcard/letter I wrote to her during my 6 months in Australia in 1982. From one emotional tug to another.

Right, I'm going to work soon and am determined to take a black bag of clutter to the dump! I'm going under the bed - perhaps I should do it before I shower??

Phew, it's been a hectic day today but I was determined to declutter something so I went into the loft, resulting in:

    Out:

More uni notes and photocopies (recycle bin)
2.5 bin bags of rubbish (tip)
    1 cardboard box (recycled)

Just got to keep chipping away at it, but it feels good each time I declutter a little!

Am on the roll - 3 black bags of stuff removed, plus a couple of bags for the homeless place and a couple more for family/friends/the very unlucky!

Now come across a large document wallet I brought back from Australia earlier this year which has a whole load of very old family photos in. So they need scanned and then distributed. Ones of me from 1979 are 'interesting' and my now strapping Aussie nephew at the age of 11 months is a delight to see again.

Have had to wash away the dust with large mouthfuls of red wine. It could be a long journey!

    still going incredibly slowly:

    129. ebay item posted today
    130. stained pair of DS3's shorts to rag bag

20 things to do before month end..... I have another ebay item finishing today (with bids), so that means 19 to find in 5 days - should be achievable..... :D

I've sorted some cds for musicmagpie, but a thread on here seems to have mixed reviews - anyone here used them and what are your thoughts?

I also need to get a move on with sorting stuff for the NCT sale - it's on Jul 10th and I must still have about 150-160 tickets still left to use up!!! Argh!!

Now that the wooden drawer from under the bed is empty that is getting chucked too - why on earth I thought it a good idea is lost in the mists of time. It just gathers dust over unwanted items... so they are gone too. IF I ever need to store more 'stuff' then it'll be plastic boxes which fit under the bed instead.

The last of the novels given away - 2 big candles found a new home - another bin bag of assorted stuff in the dump.

Did loads more last night - feeling very proud!

Another bag of books for the hospital
Another 2 black bags for the dump
Another bag of stuff for school raffle

Got distracted again last night with my degree dissertation which turned up amongst the stuff. Only 12 years ago I had a sharp academic brain, now it's almost mush ;) so enjoyed re-reading it. Then spent another pleasant hour and a half scanning it into a pdf. Won't be binning the original though - emotional ties too strong!

Only 2 more shelves and surrounding floor to do. Unfortunately it's quite high so need the ladders and it's all more hardback books! :p

Now, do I stay indoors and do this or head out into the brilliant sunshine?????

I was dozing about relaxing after eating - and just reading this thread has reinvigorated me! Reporting in for decluttering duty - I can't go outside in this weather, specially since I'll be out all day tomorrow. Decluttering here I am, tho I have to declutter some coffee first :)
