Well - the great god of 'get-off-the-sofa-and-do-some-decluttering-now' has just landed in our house! The ancient hot water tank and back boiler system has been declared extinct :j and a new combi boiler needs installed.
- Radiator thermostats installed - every room
- Gas fire/back boiler removed - living room
- Combi boiler installed - bed room  but will be put in a wooden cupboard in the alcove (can't go on front of building so positioned on back)
- Gas pipes from kitchen to bedroom -kitchen, hall and bedroom
So how's that for an incentive to clear out the rubbish? :j Will need a massive amount of effort, will create a massive amount of work but I'm just so pleased that it's being done.
So it's :j for new stuff :j for the decluttering to come and  thinking about the work ahead!0 -

Phew up to 121 stuff got rid of in June, still on target to get rid of 150 things, only 45 binned, everything else to charity/friends etc.
You know finally things are beginning to clear. There is still a way to go. I just want less stuff hanging around, me having to move it around when I have the energy to clean...:rotfl:
122. Toiletries used up as part of toiletry challenge, packaging sadly not recyclable (bin)
123. DVD game (charity)
124. Mail order packaging (bin)
125. Trousers (charity)
Total for June so far = 125 things decluttered, 47 binned, rest of stuff to charity/friends/recycling.
:TDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!" Less things. Less stuff. More life.Fab thread: Long daily walks

Just looking at the task ahead makes me want to faint. My current thoughts are that I need to cull everything with dust on/not been touched for 2 years/not remembered I had it. Drastic measures - do I have the emotional strength? Blooming hope so.
The only books left are my childhood ones (see what I mean about emotional strength). Think I may have to sneak them back to my mother's house and hid them in her clutter!:rotfl::rotfl: Funny thing is that I spent years building up my own home from items donated by my mother and now the trend is the other way. She's got my last 2 cars, my old PC and a couple of radios!
Right - off to gather my strength.
It's good to read how well others are doing so many thanks.0 -
I have a lot more books than that! And I *really* wish my mother would take some of my stuff - whats actually happened is that I've inspired her to declutter, and she's found a couple of big envelopes of letters I wrote, and given them to me!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
