The Great Declutter Part 2

Hi I would like to join in too! We really need to declutter our house! Already doing eBay, but need to keep on with it.Free Films in 2011: Tangled, Chalet Girl, Never Say Never, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I agree with Hypno, it's quite nice from an emotional point of view in clearing things out. I'm currently going through old books to give to charity (as sadly they don't seem to fetch much online) but it is going to take quite a lot of time as I have to carry them all to the charity shop and don't have a car. So it'll be a few at a time on my way to work.
Slowly but surely, eh?
In: 2 x HDMI leads (which will get used)
1 DVD box set (an investment for when we move house and won't be able to afford luxuries)
Out: Old calendars, some old cross stitch magazines and prepared another bag to go to the charity shop - old books this time. I'm taking it fairly easy today but will be doing my New Year tradition of old - having a bath. Getting myself clean and shiny as close to midnight as I can, and kind of washing away the old year and getting ready for the new.

Loads of paper for recycling, at last I've got my work files sorted. All sorted for start of term on monday.
Took the tree down ready for a fresh start for the new year and cleaned out all the boxes/bags we store decorations in. Managed to get rid of loads of stuff, decorations now fit neatly into 2 small boxes.

I'd like to join this challenge too please! I'm a maths teacher so I have collected HUNDREDS of text books over the years which I know I will NOT part with BUT a lot of the paperwork HAS to go! I made a good start in the summer and borrowed the school's heavy duty shredder over a weekend... 14 (yes, 14!) black sacks full of shreddings were recycled, (unfortunately local PDSA couldn't use it as there were staples in there) and it was SO therapeutic just knowing that I didn't have to look at it again! I hope to borrow said shredder again very soon!
My other main problem is that, according to my DM, I am always in SIEGE MENTALITY and seem to have food and toiletry supplies that could last for months! Now, to me this isn't a bad thing but I realise that storing these supplies takes so much space and I do need to sort it out before the end of 2010, hopefully by July! Then I can enjoy living in an organised house next academic year!
Wish me luck please and GOOD LUCK to everybody else on this thread!
