Today our bins have been emptied so thats some more rubbish gone, I have also sorted out the fridge, given it a good clean and thrown some old bottles away. Its amazing how therapeutic this is.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

IN - weekly shop, 2 cartridges for printer
school blazer collected from drycleaners
OUT - wheelie bin emptied
cleared out a drawer in bedroom for financial folder and office supplies(pens, hole punch etc). I know the bedroom should be kept for relaxing, but I can't relax without going over my finances
Previously the folder & many papers were in an under bed drawer, divan, however there's just too much of it. So it's going to be a challenge to keep this paperwork to a minimum.Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #22£2 savings 2010 Challenge #8Great Declutter 2010 Challenge0 -

Hi everyone,
I'm in for this challenge. A couple of tips which have helped (not cured!) me:
- sign up for the Mail Preference Service (http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/ think it is) to avoid getting junk mail - you can also sign up for the Telephone Preference Service
- unsubscribing from various companies to reduce the number of emails (and spam hopefully) I get.
- somewhere near the start of the thread said about hiring a hall and giving their stuff away. Why not do a garage sale? Also you can then do bits as you go along to see progress. Or put stuff out, say at the weekend, I've put all manor of things outside with a label saying FREE and they always go.
However, although the above has helped, I am still in chaos. So:
- I'm going to do flylady again. This really helps keep on top of things (thanks so much pigpen).
- Do a plan for each room, listing each clutter zone. Then hopefully it won't seem so over-whelming.
- find eco-friendly ways for the stuff I get rid of - eg an old printer and an old iron (any!) - there's a charity shop near us which does accept electrical goods. Old bedding goes to a local cat charity.
