  • I haven't done any decluttering for over a week. I was away for the weekend and got a nasty shock to see how unwell my poor mum is and I'm afraid I have been really subdued about her this week. :( Anyway she is in hosp and receiving good care so I have been inspired by all your posts and I am going to get rid of SOME clutter. It makes me feel a lot better each time some goes! Once again thanks to all posters, those that are moving mountains and those that are chipping away. I am really being encouraged by your posts please keep posting.

    Thank you

I'm sorry to hear that your mom is unwell emptynester, I'm sure the lovely staff at the hospital are doing their best to make your mom better.

I just wanted to send you and pigpen a virtual hug (although this smiley looks a tad dodgy!)
:grouphug: as it seems you both need one!

hugs to you Emptynester, i really hope your mum is well and back home very soon.

zarazara do you have a tesco near you? ours have recycling banks in the carpark that take plastic. i dont need to use it as our council give us bags for recycling plastic but hopefully if yours have one it will help

Thank you for the hug inaminute and the dodgy smiley made me laugh out loud. :A

I've still got a long way to go but this afternoon I have managed to fill a sack for charity and will get it to a charity shop when I can. The top is tied and nothing is coming out of it whilst it is in this house.:D I have also filled 3 carrier bags of rubbish from various cupboards and drawers and dumped them in the wheelie and then emptied the hoover on them :rotfl:. I need to learn not to keep this stuff in the first place.

    Thanks

    Hi all
Haven't really done very much over the past few days, but I do have a bag of library books, the box of things for my mum and a bag for the charity shop waiting to go in my hallway. Won't be seeing mum until Thursday, so I'll pass the box to her then. In town tomorrow, so will take the other bags.

I've got a task in hand for tonight - clearing out the understairs cupboard. There's a bit of a tale here...before Christmas I did a huge sort out of DDs toys, which I bagged up and hid in the understairs cupboard. I had hoped to sort them way before now, but things being as they are, I still have bags of things lurking.

Hopefully, I'll be adding more to the charity pile! She's grown out of them all, which is why they're in the cupboard...more of a 'safety net' than anything else as I've often thrown/given things away only for her to ask for them...if she hasn't asked for these since beginning of Dec then I'm pretty sure she doesn't want them!

Sorry, that turned into an essay!
Hope everyone else is getting on OK?
    Take care

I have been a bit rubbish today- lack of time more than anything. I did, however throw away some bits from underneath my desk at work (enforced- carpet cleaning) and I have some other bits (hairdryer, straighteners, bag) for friend's car boot- she is going to love me, the amount of stuff I am dumping on her

We are having a bit of a furniture move round here and have decided a cupboard is going (donated to sil) so this has resulted in about 5 other cupboards having a good sort out. We have a box of stuf for the charity box and a black bag of rubbish.

In today mail - now sorted and new cricket pads, wicket keeping gloves for DS

    Well done everyone.
