I actually feel like I am struggling to stand still.. though looking at the state of the house I am going backwards.. it is like a skip in here but I simply do not have the energy or the motivation to do any decorating or cleaning and it is about all I can manage to keep up with the laundry and pot washing!!
Sometimes life gets in the way of our plans. You are doing the essentials ie food and clean clothes. The rest WILL follow in due course, be kind to yourself and in time you will find the energy for those 'baby steps'.

Totally know how you feel. I work full time so get very little time to declutter. I always feel so fed up when the house is a mess. What i've done is write a list of all the "clutter zones" eg all the drawers and cupboards etc, with a view to tackling one of them whenever i have a spare 30mins/hour. Slowly but surely i will get there! Keep it up!November 2018 make £10/day - £21/£300

I don't work full time and my flat is a semi-tip:eek::eek: I agree with the slowly route. Stuff can be decluttered when you have a spare 5-30mins or whatever time you can spare.
You're doing well and should feel proud.:j:jI went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -

Ooh- how mad am I? I put out my rubbish yesterday and the bin men have just left it. It's on our path about 6 inches from the pavement because there was a car parked overhanging on the pavement. I had to climb over the rubbish and recycling to get through my gate this morning and the lazy barstewards have just left it there.
They have only collected half the recycli ng from the road too. Mine's been on my path for a week now and the road is a mess.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
I read a thing about graffitti that I think also applies to our clutter : it said that a local authority had made a huge effort to get rid of it all in one fell swoop and then had appointed people to eliminate all new graffitti as soon as it "appeared" - like within minutes - because like clutter graffitti breeds graffitti (and litter in public places and etc etc). SO thought for the day - get on top and stay on top, attack those hotspots, smile and admire those glorious gleaming kitchen worktops! And if in total dispair take pride in making one small place perfect ... I did my tea towels drawer last night while waiting for OH to come home - only took 1/2 hr, 35 tea towels (OMG!!) and loads of old poly bags (recycling), bits of string, mankie twist ties, bits of greaseproof paper (like I am going to use them when they have been hanging about for years). So I made a bonus black bag after the close of play last night!Stay clutter-free

Morning
Failed to declutter the stairs yesterday as I had a visitor, so will do that today. Also, going to fit a carrier bag holder to the inside of the cupboard door, bought it ages ago, but not fitted yet.
Decided to do chicken fajitas for dinner, but the packet had a best before date of may 2009, but when I opened it, the seasoning mix and salsa were best before Oct 2010, so glad I didn't just bin.
Have a good day everyoneYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

I've noticed that sometimes people are looking to throw away bits of computery stuff. Please try advertising it on Freecycle/Freegle or whatever your local one is called to see if you get any takers.
On ours, we have a guy who will take any computery bits - working or not. He renovates and builds working computers, then gives them away after holding a draw on Freecycle. There's usually 2 or 3 given away EVERY WEEK.0 -
