Morning everyone. Our bedroom is fairly grim but is currently occupied by DH who is exhausted after getting up at 8 with the boys . I got up at 10 :o and have been tidying the resulting mess ever since. Both the Living/Play room and the Snug have been done so

    Do you rent him out?

Washing machine engineer called and I used the excuse of having just moved in for the mess (well it was 6 months ago). He went into Kitchen/Diner that I thought lookd OK and said "Oh, I see what you mean!".:o
    !!!!!!!

Just having a cuppa and then starting again.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

You're not unusual  Do you have a microwave/electric kettle for hot drinks/hot water bottles and a bit of hot food? If not, can you borrow? and maybe get hold of an oil-filled radiator? Is your hot water on immersion, or was that from the aga too?

In the meantime, you need to keep active to keep warm - don't sit still as you'll get cold. I suggest a nice bracing walk over to a friend who has heating and cooking facilities... take gifts of food and hopefully you'll have a nice hot meal before walking back!

Good strategies, have dug out and de-spidered electric kettle and toaster, DD1 is wrapped in a blanket, DD2 was born here in the absence of anyheating at all and so is never cold.
Flying-wise, I need to clean the behemoth while it is cold. Is behemoth the word? I have a razor blade and the appropriate unguents, that cost more than Clarins face cream...

Yes thanks I'm fine :D.. Are you feeling any better?
It comes and goes, but I feel ok this morning. I wondered if it's dehydration tbh, cos I get headachey, dizzy, nauseous and completely exhausted - so I need to make sure I drink lots

I've been to the village and done everything I need to, and then came home to find a gorgeous man lurking outside my front door. Turns out he wanted to talk about electricity. I wanted to talk about my online shop. So we discussed both topics and he might buy something from me for his girlfriend.

I'm absolutely freezing so am going to do an HHC to warm up a bit. I think I will focus on getting all the floors tidy.

Flying-wise, I need to clean the behemoth while it is cold. Is behemoth the word? I have a razor blade and the appropriate unguents, that cost more than Clarins face cream...

If you have someone who services it, and it hasn't been done for a while, now is the time to get it done (I seem to remember they need to be out for 24 hours before servicing) if you can persuade them to come out before the oil turns up!

What on earth do you clean it with? We always did ours with a wire brush/wool (for the hot plates), the ovens do themselves, and the enamel usually responds OK to a wipe with vinegar and/or ecloths. I do agree though, easier when cold! Have a lovely day... at least it will keep you warm!

Have bled the radiators... they're all fine. Both hot water AND heating are making a funny noise in the corner of my bedroom (where the pipes go to and from the boiler), but there is less noise in the radiators than there has been. What annoys me is that it SOUNDS as if there is masses of air in the system, but only a minute amount came out when I bled the rads (cold). Maybe I should try again hot... Also, the noise is usually in the kitchen radiator, but recently has also been in the study radiator... today there is nothing other than in the bedroom... I wonder if I turn everything up full briefly that will get it all moving properly???

A bit more stuff has been unpacked. Can't decide what to send to my mum's stepmother as a late christmas present (I will, of course, pretend that it was sent late because of the snow, not because I didn't know what to give her). She gave me the most hideous scarf I have ever seen (even compared to her previous gifts...). I need to send something I have in the house as I'm certainly not going shopping just for her! Ooh... just seen... I've got a copy of 'One Planet Living'... maybe that would do :D... something totally innappropriate (but it will be good for her!)
