Nun was in the bath and someone knocked at the door. She cowered behind it and shouted out "Who is it?". "The blind man" came the reply. She though "Ah, that's OK, I won't have to bother getting dressed then" so she let him in.
A rather suprised man said "Nice T!ts love, now where do you want the blinds?". :rotfl:

How are you cooking without the AGA??? And I bet you're cold too...

Do you have any other heating (apart from the woodstove?). If you have a spare room, best way to dry washing is to put it in an unheated room with an open window for ventilation. Failing that, put it next to the dehumidifier with the log basket ;) I'm sure your idea will work - particularly if they're well-seasoned but just a bit damp from the weather.

er..no, I'm not cooking and it's icicles. We are a pair of incompetents that we failed to order oil in time. The only heating is a 5kw woodburner, but it does kick out a hey of a lot of heat (well, 5kw!)

mumoffour77 call me a dimwit, but what is the third "D"???!!!

polkadot huge congratulations, and prayers for a safe, calm and healthy pregnancy.:T

You're not unusual  Do you have a microwave/electric kettle for hot drinks/hot water bottles and a bit of hot food? If not, can you borrow? and maybe get hold of an oil-filled radiator? Is your hot water on immersion, or was that from the aga too?

In the meantime, you need to keep active to keep warm - don't sit still as you'll get cold. I suggest a nice bracing walk over to a friend who has heating and cooking facilities... take gifts of food and hopefully you'll have a nice hot meal before walking back!
