    Hi :j
    Happy New Year!
Hoping everyone has a peaceful and successful year. Thank you for being the only thread I've stuck with because everyone is so supportive and friendly.
    Welcome to all newbies.
Got to bed at 1.45am and had just dozed off when the fire alarms went off in our block of flats. So a load of bleary eyed former revellers had to wait while two fire engines and their crews checked everywhere out. False alarm!

New Year's resolution 'spend more time doing things I enjoy and less time doing those I don't'
    Dusty I love your resolution
Kazm awhhhh honey just what you didnt need - I hope you get things sorted with DD and its not tooooo serious. (((hugs)))
Mummmyyof5 hope are feeling better now - keep warm and take it as easy as possible - I hope your 'words' with DH have sorted things out - keep talking if you can (((hugs)))

Going to go for a bath now as i feel crap. Cold has moved into my chest and i lost my voice yesterday morning and it has still not reappeared! Didnt stop me ceilidh dancing in Princes Street Gardens last night though:D Had a great evening with my big brother and friends.
oooooooh G&B I am so jealous of you being there - glad you had a brilliant time and hope you feel better soon.
pooh I think its huskies you should be getting this year!!!
greenbee definately the garden so you can have something to enjoy outside
Have just discovered that writing a moan can help you get something out of your head even if you then delete it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Onward and upward!
oh definately Aunty - whatever method you use it works!:T I find it isnt nearly so bad as i first thought once I have got it down on paper or screen

Poppy huge squishy hugs for you - well done for coping with your first Christmas and New Year on your own - get a piece of paper and leave it handy and write down anything you think of as you go along - try to make a definate time to have a discussion with KH - even if you dont cover evrythig you can work out a few of the issues - prioritise them before you meet him. You sound like a strong lady so I think 2010 will be a start of a good life for you and your children.
Boddy I hope Mum's cold and cough go away quickly.
1 step hello lovely - thanks for asking - I am ok - I had a long lie and feel the better for it - am still breathless but learning to chill (well my version!) You are very lucky to be able to get out in the garden we still have about 5 inches of snow!! I agree with you regarding thr 1st day of the year and our expectations so like you I am doing a little and not getting stressed about it.
Funfairprincess yes thanks honey and what about you? it will be quieter now for OH? take care of yourself xx
hex good luck to your DH - thats 3 big challenges he has taken on!
pigpen awh bless DD3 - but hey watch out thats another hormonal female in the house!!!:rotfl:
Tilli what shops were open - we have nothing open here! Its nice that your Mil is still in contact and you get on ok - I guess your ex will always be her son but at least she is not taking his side IYSWIM
Mumof2 maybe not such a bad start after all - the fact that you are talking and both want to stick at it and sort it is a great way to start the year - I hope you manage to resolve your problems. xx
juliejim huge squishy (((hugs))) for you, DD and your cousins family - I am sure you will have lots of nice memories and your cousin would not want you to be sad on this the first day of a brand New Year. xx
Lady L I dont know what to say honey but I am thinking of my brave friend and I am pleased you are putting yourself first for a change - and wishing you strength to cope with your decision - I hope things work out the way you feel is best for you - I am here as always for you xxx

ETA Kaz I'm sure he is close by, tell you what though it makes me realise I have to make the most of my dash with Miss A and W as you never know what is around the corner.
ooooooooooooooooh you silly mare why didnt you say - he is always there with you in your heart and all around you and watching over you all. And you do loads with an do loads for A&W to make their lives special so dont ever underestimate yourself honey!
I am going to start a spending diary I think - your reply re MSMoney has prompted me to get my spending back in line now that a lot of the major jobs have been done ( even if not paid for yet:eek:)
I also have accepted a challenge so will be keeping you company.:D:D

Dorastar I am please to see you and the other teachers are getting a little planning etc done - you dont want to leave it until the night before - coooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeee Mrs Chaos are you listening!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Courgette well done so far - this week's list are a wee bit different because of the hols - a new thread starts on Sunday and it gives us MOndays list and you get tuesdays on monday evening etc etc we dont always have a weekend list. Even if you just aim to complete level 1 everyday when you go back to work plus any extra bits I bet you will find a difference - the lists give us structure:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I havent managed much today - there seems to be endless phone calls and texts - I hadnt really planned on doing much so its not a problem in the grand scheme of things.

I may not come back on tonight as I am going to get comfy with Daniel and Tom:D:D

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

Hello all Happy New Year. Have cooked another lovely dinner but have got guest overload now and don't want to think up anymore menus for a while now:D I had a friend and her 3 children round last night until 8h30 when they went home, the kids are all small and were a bit of a nightmare combined with my two. They all wore me out and I went to bed at 9h45, I don't like new year, find it depressing.
Todays guests (my dad and his partner) were much easier:rotfl:

    Flying wise today I have
made 2 beds changed a cot
    dysoned through downstairs
emptied and filled the DW twice
    WM x1
    cooked 3 course lunch
s&s kitchen and hob (my oven now has a new bulb and I can see it gleaming:T)
    emptied all the bins
Be back to catch uo in a mo as my normally Dh is being a KH as I'm asking him to put kids in bed as I'm tired (they are already bathed:mad:)

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.
  • Good evening everyone  Plans for the weekend have changed  The friends we were to be visiting are poorly, so not having visitors :o However, the friends who were coming to The North and staying with the poorly friends (please keep up, there'll be a test on this later :p ) are still coming, so we're meeting them for lunch tomorrow before they head back to The South :j

We have lots of snow, so a short walk may be in order :snow_laug:snow_grin:snow_laug:snow_grin:snow_laug:rudolf:

DH is cooking, then we'll watch Dr Who. I'll be bereft with no David Tennant to rest my eyes on :blushing:
