Opened some post that had been lurking under junk since Tuesday... cheque I was expecting for £1000 is actually £1483
:D
Now I know this is my money, which I'd been saving as part of the company share scheme, but it was one of those things I'd forgotten about...
... now, do I put it towards the garden... or spend it on something more exciting... jewellery maybe? or a picture?
I've made a deal with myself about the kenwood... I can get one when I have enough space for it in the utility room. So realistically that won't be until the new shed is in place (which given the speed at which both the landscaper and my builder move, will be in about 2020!)... maybe I should just move house.
(((hugs))) poppy. How about sitting down and writing a list of things to be sorted out. That way you can try to make sure that you both stick to the point and don't end up trying to deal with the stuff you aren't ready for yet.0 -

Hello all, I'm back!
Happy New Year and all the best to everyone for a brilliant (and clean & tidy!) 2010!
Had a lovely time with my family but I'm glad to be home! Very pleased to have the weekend to get sorted out before W*rk on Monday. We got home about 2.30pm and whilst I dropped the car at the in laws DH brought the stuff up and unpacked, by the time I got back (only 5 mins later!) the case was away, washing waiting by the machine and new things ready to go away. :T I had a lovely bath with a big cup of tea and a mince pie (diet starts tomorrow!) and read a trashy novel. Not sure I'll manage to catch up on here properly this week, but I should be able to get a few stars as we did some flying before we went away and I've done the bathroom and S&S'd the kitchen since getting back. WM is also on and there's another load waiting.
Welcome to all the newbies, this thread is always busy in Jan, hope you stay with us. Special :hello: to courgette who I've bumped into on other threads!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Courgette welcome! And congratulations on the forthcoming happy event!
greenbee sounds like you have got your mojo back.
Been out for lunch and managed to keep it down, feeling sick on NYD should only be due to hangover, so I feel quite cheated.
Washing machine on again. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Have just discovered that writing a moan can help you get something out of your head even if you then delete it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Not really... but I'm trying  I was interrupted by the phone, so will go and clear the kitchen surfaces, then make a mess again soaking pulses. Must get some pigeon breasts and sausages out of the freezer too. Can't do any actual cooking until tomorrow, as I need to get onions and various other bits, but I can do some planning...gratefulforhelp wrote: »greenbee sounds like you have got your mojo back.0 -
Dinner cooking, shredding up to date so list is now..
1. Tidy a cupboard or 10 of your choosing!
2. Run appliances through a clean cycle.. degunk filters etc too
3. Budget and meal plan for next month.. most of us will be a little strapped for cash.
4. wash any grotty windows so you can see out.. and light can get in!
5. Vacuum a neglected floor!
6. List 5 things on ebay/freecycle/amazon.. wherever
Off to tidy a cupboard whilst watching things cook, ans quickly run the dyson about - laters
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
Now that is just what I am trying to avoid...:D and not succeeding too well at the moment.Sunday is going to be my get ready for school day
Honestly, looking at what I'm supposed to be teaching this term, I feel as if I've been away for weeks and months rather than ten days... Topic of illness for Year 9 Spanish, very apt as I'm still sniffly; Nationality Year 7 Spanish, (most of my three bottom sets have no idea where they live, and the entrenched belief that everyone else in the world either already speaks English or should do, so that should be an interesting concept for them); Family Year 8 French - which means I get to teach not only mother, father etc but also step-parent, foster parent, half sister, etc etc. Oh joy.
I have done no flying at all although DS1 has emptied the airing cupboard. Onto my bed. He hasn't sorted it out yet, but promises that he will.
Okay, cup of tea, then back to work...It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
