Hello Ladies - Welcome to Courgette and any other newbies I may have missed :hello:
I havent done a great deal to be honest. Im still at my uncles and havent gone home yet. So not a great deal of flying done, but Ive decluttered some crisps, cheese and crackers, a bit of chocolate and am about to declutter a glass of wine.
I have cleared out about 200 emails though and finished a bottle of shampoo and conditioner.
I havent made any resolutions but Im thinking about what Iwant to acheive this year and how I want to acheive it and the same saying keeps springing to mind.....
Day to day, it seems like nothing changes, yet when you look back - everything is different.
So bearing that in mind Ive decided it will be Babysteps for me this year (flylady style!) in everything I do but with a focussed goal.....Im thinking of another move. To London this time. But need to work everything out first and develop my plan around that. Day to day it may seem that nothing is changing but when I look back a year from now, it will hopefully be very different!!
xxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Finished my flying for the day. Good job too as I've just burnt my thumb and two fingers serving dinner so am still sitting with my hand in cold water. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

off to investigate the dratted thing - I've lots more to wash, it can't go wrong now,

Did you clean the filter first? This is the usual cause of leaks from my WM... I don't put it back properly
Stick of sprouts dealt with... off the stick, peeled, crossed and washed, so I now have green veg other than lettuce indoors! Beans and split peas are soaking so I can make some soup tomorrow, plus some sausage casserole (must check stock of tinned tomatoes...)
Kitchen is looking better... need to keep making progress. Tomorrow I need to do shopping - butcher, post office then into town for health food shop and supermarket. I'll need a rest in the evening...plus it will all need putting away
Think I'd better do a freezer and cupboard inventory and make a comprehensive shopping list so I don't have to go back to town for stuff anytime soon...0 -
Hi all, not done too much today, went to the local pub and then got home before midnight last night to stand outside and watch the new year in.
Quite sedate but I enjoyed it really and I ddn't suffer too much today which is nice.
So flying wise I've binned one big binbag full of stuff.

I have emptied one wardrobe, and TAKEN IT APART WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND HAMMER!!!!!!!!!!!! At long last one down one to go!
Discovered a nasty big massive patch of damp all over one wall upstairs roof to halfway down - don't know what to do about it??????
Have taken the wallpaper off to see if will dry but when I did this on another bit of this wall it didn't dry out
Tomorrow need to clean the LR after taking the dec's down and then go to the tip to take what I can fit in the car from the wardrobe. Managed to get half of it down and 2 big sections to try and get downstairs tomorrow. Then might have a go at the one remaining and then they are gone at last!
I would have rehomed them but they are terrible, full of large nails and smell very very fusty and old. They are 1950's 60's style and have come to the end of their life now. I don't like chucking furniture away but these have to go.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 - [STRIKE]Tidy a cupboard or 10 of your choosing![/STRIKE]

boddy hope Mum is better soon
Crafty I do that loads!!
Triker now if I'd gone out that sounds like more my sort of evening now
AnWsMum ((hugs)) know new year is difficult for you but no matter how long he's gone he'll always be very much with you all and through you all with us x x
g&b pleased you are enjoying your time with your big brother, sounds wonderful, hope you are better soon
Moam I popped a link on your staus thingy
Dorastar good luck with the new job
fedup do you own your house or rent, if you rent I'd say call LL/housing association if not think I'd get it looked at
poohbear wow more snow!!! Hope your supplies store is doing ok & the lads are pulling their weight with collecting what you don't have. Snows forecast to continue here all weekend & possibly longer too.
greenbee personally I'd save it for a while before spending it, so it's not used impulsively. Think about what you wanted the most before you thought about/remembered about it. Oh I'd prbably sack both the workmen (using term loosely) too
kazm hope she settles soon, I so don't envy you when she hits her teens!
LL you sound very positive today, good luck with all you want to achieve
embb that was my NY eye tea, nom nom, I put carrots & stuff in too then some dumplings
nicki pleased your DD is on the mend
hex, all at the same time? good luck...both of you
Mumof2 if we had not had the boys we'd not be together, in fact we have split since they were born, it's all part of getting older I suppose. We've had ups and downs, always will but after 12 years (yes we were young) we can still have a laugh together, enjoy doing things together etc. Hope you sort things out.
vanilla I always start with a towel around my mouth/nose! ((hugs))
Poppytime, maybe wait until you've had time to decide what you want to say?
Well today went sort of to plan, then didn't :rotfl: DP got in about 4.30am, I refused to argue with him over his phone call at 4am asking me if someone I can't stand could stay here as they couldn't find their keys.....not a hope & he knew it. So I got to sleep just after 5am. Anyway thanks to children I got up at 8am (sleep in for once) sorted a couple of cupboards & boxes out, got some Christmas left overs out of the freezer for tea, degunked the DW (must do WM later) & went in the bathFirst in months, really enjoyed it. Then made Christmas dinner round 2 but without the work of the roasts. Only thing missing was pigs in blankets, I just did small sausages instead. Really enjoyed it but made too much so some left overs there for supper.
We just had a second brief power cut, bit scary, unfortunately 3 burglar alarms now going off for the second time tonight. Boys have their windy up torches at the ready. Dr Who now on, hope it doesn't go off through this or DS1 won't be impressed.
DP has actually gone to work after dinner, he didn't manage to finish his as it was huge, said he is going to see how it goes, his boss has made more on dayshift today than he did last night as there was very few cabs out (3 he seen all day) we have had more snow but he's took my car so not as worried about him getting back.
Tonight, TV for me after Dr Who finishes, then when the boys are in bed clean the kitchen up as I have made a right mess. Might even see if I can get my room finished, there is just some stuff left on the floor to deal with then I could have all this weeks stars as I am going to do my budget planning now & stick some stuff on Freegle. One day I might be more organised...........

GnB - I think wonderfulness should be a word; hope your voice comes back soon; and Ceilidh in Princes Gardens sounds fantastic!
AnW - hugs; some people's dashes do seem far too short, but we will never forget them and they are always close by xxx

Toots - hugs and prayers for you too xx
Right - my list ................."There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers
"I'm feeling like a Monday but someday I'll be Saturday night" - Bon Jovi0 -
WM - finally managed to make it empty, and mopped up water. The website Lil_me is very useful so will investigate further tomorrow when I can have help to pull it out & tip it over. The indie repairers suggested I've heard good reports of so will call them if its not obvious. Its a Miele and usually so reliable..
Maybe a HHI next as no more washing tonight.. and then a hoover through once DS is properly asleep. DH still feeling very rough so sent him to bed - may even get those invoices issued today after all,
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0
