Anyone have any tips for ironing difficult things. I could probably manage the polo shirts but how about anything like Denim jeans/skirts/dresses as I find that things go shiny when I try ironing them, is the trick to put a tea towel over things? What about dresses or skirts which have tiers like RaRa type.
I never iron and just tumble dry everything and hopefully get it out when it finishes otherwise OH chucks it into bags where it gets all creased and is no good to anyone.
I tend to buy the school uniform (pinafore dresses) that are non iron so just tumble dry and get out.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

Nothing gets shiny with a good steam generator iron. My one is a good few years old now and is a bit temperemental. I'm thinking of maybe getting a steam press but it'd take up an awful lot of room.
I always have loads of washing to do. My mum always offers to take some and do it for me. Last week I gave in and gave her my son's bed covers to wash. I told her a few times NOT to bother ironing them. What did she do? She ironed them and as there's some satin on it she burnt not only the cover but also the 2 pillowcases! They're ruined now. I mean if you burn one item you're going to be extra careful with the rest! That wouldn't have happened with a steam generator iron. The covers were new and had cost £40.0 -
Thanks, I also have one of those Steam Generator irons which was a Bzzz Agent thing, only paid £20 for it, must get the iron and ironing board out later maybe and have a practice. Think I'll get a tea towel and iron over the top of that first just in case I burn the kids white polo school shirts.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Hello everyone! Well here I am again - shirking. I haven't managed to iron anything except school uniform since I last posted. I know DS has no trousers or poloshirt for tomorrow so I'll be rushing it in the morning as usual. My ironing pile is HUGE (again) and I just don't care. However don't care was made to care and true enough my MIL is visiting on tuesday so I blinking well better get it all done (or hide it hee hee) as I will have to listen to "helpful" comments about what I do with my time otherwise!
Wonder if the pile will fit in the tumble drier? Or maybe I could split it, half in the tumble drier, half in my wardrobe. Wish I had an Aga, I bet you could hide loads of unironed clothes in one of them.
I knew I'd be rubbish at this challenge, I must try harder.I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.
