I just used the basic biscuit dough recipe from the 'biscuiteers book of iced biscuits' (http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&productId=202739) - lovely book with some great ideas!

For my cake pops I've always used a red velvet recipe in the past, it makes a gorgeous tasting cake that stays moist for days.

Do you still have to mix cream cheese with the cake for cake pops? How much would you recommend? I cant seem to find a good recipe and I'd rather take advice from you guys to be honest!

I mix up the same amount I use for cupcakes. Then I just add it to the cakes until its at the right consistency :) I rarely make them, i find them too much hassle, people get them if I have a baking disaster, cause I hate waste. :j

I have finally got to the end of this very fab and interesting thread. I love baking and am seriously considering doing this from home, I'm just worried about the registering side of it. Can I ask where you get your recipes for cupcakes? I have a book but am confussed what is all purpose flour??? Sorry if that's silly.
I love all of your wonderful creations.
Is there any advice any of you can offer for someone starting up????

Hi Kelly-Lou, I think all purpose flour is just the American term for plain flour;)

    WOW!!! I love it!

Did you carve the shape or cook the cake in some kind of bowl?

  • I Just used a small glass bowl and made 2 cakes, then levelled the tops and sandwiched the 2 halves together. I did sandwich each half first if you see what I mean so the whole cake was layered 3 times in total. Take my advice and just sandwich the 2 halves as I had to remove the bottom layer as the cake was moving all over the place  Hope you followed all that:rotfl:
