Wow, what a busy week it's been! It was our local farmers' market Christmas event today, over 70 stalls along the high street, brass bands & carols singers, an absolutely fantastic day all in all. I took 229 cupcakes, the most I've ever baked, and sold out by 1pm, 3 hours before we were due to finish! Also took a couple of orders for the biscuit trees at £10, thanks for all the advice received on this board about deciding on a price.
I've posted a photo of the stall below, but there's some more on Facebook if anyone would like a nosy! http://on.fb.me/hbJh1v
Just to catch up...
Probably, but I must admit I prefer the taste of the flooded icing, plus I think I'm probably better at doing it that way than rolling out ready rolled icing to an even thickness!would using ready to roll icing be easier and just cut out the star??
When I gave cake pops a go for the first time I used frosting brought from the supermarket (only time I ever have!) and mixed it to the quantities on the Bakerella site. I've never tried using cream cheese.Do you still have to mix cream cheese with the cake for cake pops? How much would you recommend?
All purpose flour is just plain flour. I get most of my recipes online - that way they've often been reviewed by other people & you get more of an idea of whether it's good or not. Baking from recipe books doesn't always work perfectly as my exploding cupcakes I tried the other day proved! Can I ask where you get your recipes for cupcakes? I have a book but am confussed what is all purpose flour?Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -

I love the site https://www.joyofbaking.com the recipes on there are nearly all tested.

My favourite is probably the 'Eat Me' book - it's beautifully presented & a lovely read with all the recipes split into seasons. Unfortunately it also produced the exploding cupcakes though! But the Christmas pudding ones were so lovely that all is forgiven.Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00

Great cake:T I bet your brother was thrilled with it!
I don't really do a lot of cupcakes but a great place to buy baking supplies is tk maxx (if you have one near you). I've also bought cake decorating supplies from there as well such as cutters, rolling pins etc. I find the prices are really good
