    you could do the envelopes as stardrops suggested, and maybe a STAR to resemble the walkway at the oscars, save trying to do a "perfect" statue.

    Bluefire-long time no speak! Great cakes and ive been popping onto your facebook page every now and again, lovely! Quick question-how much are you pricing your cupcakes at? They look like muffin cases..? Mine dont seem to be selling so well so think i may have to lower the price :(
    Hi Nat :) Thanks for the compliments about the cakes, it's nice to know people are still checking out the Facebook page! Hopefully I'll be posting some photos of the new Christmas range this weekend, will have to make sure I post them on here too instead of lurking all the time.

    I currently price my cupcakes at £1 each, 4 for £3.50 & 6 for £5. That's a fair bit lower than some of the more established companies around here (£1.50+) but it's more important to me not to go home with cupcakes, rather than charge more money for them. Plus I don't like to charge more than I would be prepared to pay myself! The cases I use are a mix of muffin & cupcake, they're all of a similar size though. Hope that's some help :)

    my first christmas cupcake!

    i sell these for £1.50. if i sold them for less than that its not worth it when taking into consideration my hours at min wage and ingredients. i managed to pick up the cases at wilko mixed with some silver ones for 1.99 for 50-a lot cheaper than ebay! they're muffin sized too :)

    How do you make your icing so white?!
    Ingredients:

    * 4 cups confectioners' sugar
    * 1 cup shortening
    * 2 tablespoons water
    * 1 teaspoon clear imitation vanilla extract

    Directions:

    1. In a large bowl, combine sugar, shortening, water and vanilla. Beat on low speed to combine, then beat on medium speed for a full five minutes. It won't look like Icing at first, but keep the mixer going for a full five minutes, and then you're done!
    2. If you're not using this for decorating, but just for icing the cake, thin the icing by adding 3 tbs. of corn syrup, or water to the icing.
    [credit to allrecipes.com] Enjoy.

    In general cakes and biscuits and the like can be sold at food fairs, online fabric and food craft sites like Etsy, Coriandr, Notonthehighstreet, Folksy, Dawanda and the like.

    Hi Guys

    Here is a couple of cakes I've made recently. One was for my sisters graduation and the gift box cake is for my niece and her friend who are having a joint 18th party tonight. I know this thread is called "cash from baking" but I'm thinking it should be changed to "debt from baking" as I always seem to be out of pocket instead of making any money:rotfl:

    Quick question... so I came up with this last night, which I'm going to package up in cellophane & display on my stall at the weekend taking orders for Christmas. It's about 15cm wide & 18cm high, just wondering how much you'd be willing to pay for one?

    Blue Fox, I created a fan page on Facebook, got my friends to 'like' me, which in turn shows up in their threads & then hopefully their friends check out the page and 'like' as well. I also ran a competition to win a box of cupcakes, which to enter you had to suggest the page to your friends, and post a link on my local 'for sale, free, swap or wanted' board helped a lot as well.
