Stardrops; I've said it once and I'll say it again (and again!) your cakes are absolutely amazing. I can't beleive you've had no formal training. You should really think about setting up a business.

Bluefire; Your cupcakes look so yummy. I can believe that they sold out really quickly. Bet it put a spring in your step when that happened!

Thanks pennib you're so kind:o I am thinking about signing up for a course in January so that I can learn how to do all the beautiful flowers that I see on other cakes. I find that the courses are very popular though so it might be full already:(

It did indeed, especially considering there was another cupcake company there as well! Feeling a bit under pressure about it all at the moment, they're turning up at a lot of the same events that I do and repeatedly trying to book stalls at the others (to the point where the lady who runs the farmers' market I attend said they were harassing her!) and they also seem to have adopted nearly all the same flavours as me, even the more unusual ones. I guess I'm lucky that when it comes to the farmers' market at least that they have a strict policy on not doubling up on stalls.

Still, I shall try not to let it worry me too much. Going to be playing about with Christmas recipes this week which I'm very much looking forward to!

My wife makes celebration cakes, including cupcakes which are very popular at the moment. Her site is here

    https://www.cakeability.co.uk

This is not meant as a plug as she is very busy already and has to turn down business. Some good ideas though for budding cake makers.

    Thank you.

She works completely alone. She used to have a shop but it got in the way of the Cake making and was too expensive to run, she now works entirely from home.

How much are you selling yours for Nat? I sell mine for between £1 and £1.25 and they sell ok for that price.

I've just got an order for 50 Oscar statue themed cupcakes, I am bricking it! I've tried modelling the statue but looks pretty naff at the moment :( Will have to keep trying. They don't want them til Monday but it's a big event funded by the local council so I need to make them look perfect!

    Hi

What about doing half with an "Oscars" envelope, they would be pretty easy and the other half you could maybe get edible images of the statue to put on the cupcakes? Just a thought :o hth
