Oh and another thought, if you do the crown with sugarpaste, you could do it just thick enough to stick some cocktail sticks in to keep it up right? Think happy & you'll be happy

Was it babyplum who did the halloween cake? It's brilliant and way undercharged at £20! It's so easy to register as self employed and get approved by the EHO, then you can charge real prices!

Yeah it was me. Thank you!
It was massively undercharged at just £20 but i only let her give me the cost of all the materials because i didn't want to get into trouble for making profit whilst not being registered.
I do plan to register as self employed and get approved by the EHO but there is a big hurdle to pass first. I live in a privately rented house and i can't see them agreeing to it unfortunately. I'm still going to ask but reckon my chances are slim to none.

You can use sugarpaste with either tylo powder or gum trag added, you only need a teaspoon to 250g of sugarpaste. It works just the same as flower paste but a lot cheaper. You do need to leave it overnight if possible but I have used it after a few hours and it's been alright.
Thanks to the advice on this thread i have recently being using gum trag with sugarpaste for modelling. Before i was spending an absolute fortune on flower paste. I now actually prefer sugarpaste with gum trag added. I just add enough to made it set hard but it is still really soft to work with. Fab!!!

My favourite cake from yesterday:

I'm slowly uploading some of the other cake photos here: http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/bb268/Socialchemistry/Cake%20International/
It was a great day, I picked up a couple of cupcake carriers that hold 24 cupcakes each - 2 for £35, some edible glitter - 5 pots for £7.60 and a few other bits & bobs. Only one stall giving out cake samples but plenty of icing available to try!Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -
