  • Awwww, thanks Esmer and Karen ~ the recipient was my dd, don't think I'd have dared to attempt it for a paying client, it was stressful enough as it was! But yes, she was indeed delighted so the stress was worthwhile :D

I would buy your cake before some "cake specialists" they are one of the nicest I have seen.

I was wondering if you lovely people could pass on your wisdom please. I would like to know the quantities of cake mix you use depending on the size of your tins.

    I have got 6" x 3" deep, 8" x 3" deep but I can't seem to get my quanties right.

Would love to see some Halloween cake pics if you have any babyplum!

Stokegal - no idea about the airbrush thing I'm afraid but I'll be interested too if anyone else knows. I got the Planet Cake cupcake book from Amazon the other day (not that I've got a cake book fetish or anything :p) and most of the decorative ideas in there seem to sort of assume that you've got one...

    Happy baking ladies :D

Wowzers!!! I love it! You do a fantastic job on the unicorn. It looks so difficult.

Here is the Halloween cake. I had to take a couple of really quick photos with my phone as i was dashing out to deliver it and the pics really don't do it justice! :(
It looked so much better in real life!

The cake itself is covered in orange buttercream. It took me AGES to get it that smooth! lol. Then the cauldron on top is a mini vanilla sponge cake covered in black fondant. The green blobs are piped buttercream too. I made the pumpkins, ghosts, bats and stars myself and then cheated with the jelly worms and skulls in the cauldron. ;)

Yeah course you can. Except i am not registered as a business or anything yet so i didn't make any profit. It was for a colleague so she just gave me £20 to cover the cost of all the ingredients.
