Beautiful work both Karen and Hayley :)

I made a yummy Gluten-Free lemon drizzle cake today to give me a break from cupcakes. Just a quick question to those who completed their food hygiene exams online, which website did you use?

Just debating names for the business now...

I've been asked to make this mickey mouse cake....

    mickey-mouse-cake-21102819.jpg

I am terrified, I think I should've said no to be honest but I just want as much practice as I can get at the moment. Anyways, this is what i'm planning on doing, if anybody can see where I might go wrong or have any tips, I would be really grateful!

I'm going to bake a 12" round madeira cake
Cut around the template I have printed
Cover the whole cake in buttercream
Cover the whole cake in white sugarpaste
Cut out the features using black/red/flesh sugarpaste
Stick them on using edible glue

How will I make the flesh part look all bumpy? Do you think it would look ok if I left it smooth? The cake doesn't have to be exact I guess.

    Thanks x

Sounds like a good plan to me Hayley, it would daunt me too! I would leave the flesh smooth, instead of covering in white sugarpaste, why dont you colour it flesh tone and then add the red. black and white, just an idea.
