thanks guys for this thread, ive been thinking about starting my own cupcake business for ageeeees now and you've given me so much info on how to get started! i love love love the photos and ive read every single post but stupidly didnt jot down any info i read so i have to trawl through them again! i made my first lot of cupcakes the other day, self taught so would be great to see if you guys approve...i'll try my best to upload them! i used a Italian meringue icing and to be honest, it wasnt great. it took FOREVER to beat the egg whites, my poor mixer nearly died! if the pics arent too clear its a pastel green icing! does anyone have a great icing recipe they'd be happy to share thats good for piping? and when you say icing sugar-is this regular or royal? thanks xxx

I use one part butter (real butter not stork) to two parts icing sugar (regular not royal) I also add a bit of boiling water and sometimes flavouring and colouring. The sugar flair paste colours are really good and go a long way.

To upload a photo, go on a photo hosting site such as photobucket, upload to there, get the link and post on here, hope that makes sense. :)
