Got a little bit of a problem I have 2 orders for Friday, my oven has chose to die on me and I can't get anyone out 2 look at it until tommorrow afternoon!!!!!!0

I looked at their insurance but I am not sure if it's what we need. I got a few quotes today and the cheapest was £69!!!
Yeah i was bit concerned because its really cheap but it is meant to cover baking businesses from home so i cant see why it wouldnt be suited. I want to make sure its decent cover just incase.0 -

Oh noooooo disaster. Let just hope it can get fixed this afternoon and you wont have to worry, either that or if it cant get fixed then you might have to cancel the orders or ask a neighbour, friend, family member that lives nearby to use their oven. good luck and hope you sort something out.0 -
Oven fixed so cake orders are all done:j
I messaged the sugarguild and you have to join them to get their insurance. There are 3 levels of insurance and I was told the £15 one is fine for doing cakes from home. If you get it from them it does finish at the end of April 2012. I am going to see if my kitchen gets passed and then get this and join them.0 -

Cool thank you. Yeah its abit wierd how they do it but they run it yearly and if you join halfway thru the year its still full price. Even tho u have to join the guild it still works out cheaper. Well if it suits what we do then thats brilliant. Thanks.0 -
Hiya, hope everyone has had a good weekend? Can I ask what size cupcake cases you all use? When I make them for family/friends I use muffin sized cases. I made them for a friend of a friend and brought cupcake cases and thought how small they were! I am confussed as if you are selling them obviously the smaller ones are more profitable?!?!?!0

I use muffin sized - 5cm across base, 3.5cm tall. Anything smaller is a fairy cake as far as I am concerned!0

Yeah i agree, cupcake cases are way too small and i dont think you get the same look. If you want to make proper cupcakes you are better off using muffin cases. Somethimes though muffin size are too big for some poeple.0

Thanks Ladies, Just what we thought at home, my OH says the cupcake sized ones are way too small as it only takes him 2 bites and it's gone lol. Where do you get the cases from then as I can only find white or brown muffin cases?0

You can get them from lots of cake suppliers online, and also on ebay - it is a case of shopping around. You won't get coloured ones in supermarkets.0
