So good to see peoples businesses taking of! Things are looking better than I had ever expected so early on. I did my biggest cake to date last night and was attending the party myself so was great to see peoples reactions and soak up the compliments! I have come away with 2 orders too. Here's what i did -0

Where do you get your recipes from? A book or do you make them up yourself? xPink_Mummy wrote: »Hiya everyone, where is the best place to buy boxes from and also what size cases do you use for cupcakes?
Glad to hear your stall went well lauraw78, it looked really lovely. I've only just put 2 & 2 together and realised you're the Laura's Bakery I've been following on twitter lol!
This was my work for the weekend, I wish my Mum had brought me cakes like this for my birthday when I was 10!Mortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -
Hi
Thanks for all your advice, I think you will never change the mind of people who buy cheap supermarket cakes. For them I think price over rides quality!
I'm stuck as to how/where to start a cupcake business, it's all very well people taste testing but I need people to buy them!!!!!0 -
Question: do you have to get permission from a brand if you intend to sell a product using the brands name? Ie; Galaxy truffle cupcakes, Green and Blacks buttercream...2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0

I'm curious about that one too Nat21Luv, I have a few recipies I'd like to include in my book, but while I can make dark chocolate generic, I can't work out what the unbranded description for a creme egg could possibly be!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Recipe books (both mine & my Mum's!) recipe websites, cupcake blogs... sometimes I'll just get inspiration from a name & then find a recipe to suit. I've tweaked most of them as I go along to get them just right though.
They're not operating at the moment due to moving premises, but I'm planning on getting all my future boxes from http://www.icing-works.co.uk/ - their prices are REALLY reasonable if you can buy in bulk. I get my cupcake cases from https://www.cater4you.co.uk.

I recognise those cupcakes from facebook...lol, which one are you? I probably confuse with the @laurasbakery twitter account, but @lauraslittlebakery wouldn't fit!
I look forward to that new cupcake box place opening after me boycotting cupcakeboxes direct!
I need some help with my new FPC moulds I acquired over the weekend....some of them are tiny and I'm finding it impossible to get them out without ruining them. Any tips?
Another good day today...ave been asked to help a posh charity event out for Help the Heros in the Wirral, I get to set up a little stall...sell cupcakes and donate a percentage to charity which is absolutely fine by me, my brother's in the army so it's a cause that means something to me.
I do worry though, at something like this.....if I'm going to sell them 300+ cupcakes for £2 each, how much would you donate yourselves per cupcake. Honest answers here please, because as much as I'd like to say here you go have all the profit, I can't afford to do that!0
