Thanks Hayley11 I will have a look on Ebay 4 boxes. I never thought of looking there!!!
Do you think u can make a business purely from cupcakes???

I had a go at cupcakes baked in ice cream cones, well what a mess they were lol. I thought I hadn't overfilled them but the spilled out too much. I managed to sort them out and decorate them and so in the end they looked fab. I am still not happy with my basic recipe when I baked them 2day they seemed to get a hard crust. I have tried the Hummingbird recipes but didn't like them I love the Primrose Bakery recipes but they bump the price of the cake up!!!!! HELP

£1 a cupcake is too much?!! Do they not know that tesco sells 2 for £2 and they're carp?! Jeez some people! I sell mine for £2 each and small ones for £1 each. Dont do too bad and had no complaints (apart from a car boot sale-they wouldnt even pay 50p!!)

I've just been approached by a local company who would like me to join forces with them to do wedding packages-she owns a beauty parlour with lots of contacts...the only way is UP!! :D

I sell them in work for a quid, but because im not a business and the money helps me make them more. :) They are more than happy to pay a quid or more for that matter, they know quality when they taste it :T

some people want something for nothing. The effort time and everythign that is put into cakes is not appreciated by some

Good luck on the venture if you go for it :)

I think some people do sell just cupcakes yeah. I think if you can make a business from it or not depends on your area and you of course. ;)

Business is taking off for me I think!
I've gone from being told by the council on monday, I can cook from home, by Friday I have 2 shops asking me to supply them every other day. I didnt even plan on supplying shops. My friends are plugging me well. i have my food hygiene day on the first Sat in february then I'm good to go. Went on a business advice workshop on Wednesday which was very helpful, and will go on 3 more - they are free too! I have just finished my first 3 tier for a Saturday party so that will help with promoting myself locally, have a order for 30 Cupcakes with small cutting cake and will be putting out order forms for valentine cupcakes next week. Hopefully with these I can earn a little bit of cash to put in to equipment.

I was using cupcakeboxesdirect but they have totally messed me about with an order of 100 boxes. First of all had a huge delay, then they sent faulty ones, they had no others to replace them with and offered a measly £5 discount off them, bearing in mind all 100 are faulty, not god!

With regards pricing, mine start from £1.25-£2.00, depends on style and flavours. I have a huge range of flavours and constantly updating. I follow quite a few of you on here so thought I would give my own a bit of a plug ;-)

Would be great to get some feedback off you all. I'm getting some great orders in, the biggest so far is for 100 cupcakes (christening) and have a few wedding queries, I'm yet to even have a proper design for those though.

Thanks for the replies back on the cake stall, I have that tomorrow...ended up baking strawberry cheesecake cupcakes, also chocolate, salted caramel, malteser and vanilla cupcakes too. Mini cupcake bites, cake pops, brownies, carrot cake and rocky road. Hopefully all goes well.

If anyone knows of another cheap cupcake box supplier that sells in bulk I would be very grateful! :)

Wow fab cupcakes lauraw78. I hope u did well 2day with the event. Can I ask where u get ur recipes from?? Also the cases ur valentine cupcakes r in r beautiful can I ask where they are from.
I think I may struggle selling cupcakes as griends and family thought that £1.25 was too much "you can get them from Asda cheaper" was what they had to say!!!! I am cupcake crazy and really want to make a business from this. My oh is in the process of tiling the floors and walls in the kitchen and once this has been done I shall be ringing the council, I just hope I can make a go of it
