Hi all, have had a hard couple of days but am just catching up with the thread now!! Thanks so much for all your suggestions, I liked them all, especially this one:Tara time to change your thinking pet, try and focus on the positive (yes i had a slice of cake...but all that matters is i didnt have two kind of thing) get a notebook and keep a food diary be harsh with yourself and write down everything you eat with the time, so you have a true account of what your eating and when. Are you eating because your bored? start doing something that keeps your hands and mind busy crafts like cross stitch are great for killing hours before bed. just keep at it and it will happen
...actually (lightbulb moment) Tara i offer up a challenge to you
you will need to invest in a pedometer, (you can get them for a couple of £ or pm me your address and i will send you one)
Then start a new thread a step's challenge.
Google says there is 2000 steps in a mile and there is 603 miles from Lands End to John o' groats (see where im going with this :rotfl:) record your steps each day and find out how long it would take to walk it.
I would join you, im sure the other's would too...I will volunteer Amanita:D(will get you moving)
I'm going to do it! First step is a food diary, I will buy a little pocket diary tomorrow in the pound shop and keep it with me at all time. And I will be brutally honest about what I'm eating!! I will draw a little star beside the healthy stuff so that I can see at a glance when I've had a bad day/week and identify patterns etc. Then I'll dig out my pedometer and do the steps challenge. I walk quite a lot anyway but have been slipping under 2 hours a day. But I have a big walk planned for this Saturday and have been doing squats every day so it's not all bad! Amanita, are you on for it?
I'm also going to keep busy by reading (strangely I never eat while reading, but often feel the urge to snack while surfing!), do my nails etc etc.
I'm also going to read Allen Carr's easyweigh to lose weight and all my other diet books to put me in the right frame of mind! I was walking around the supermarket this evening mentally saying no to chocolate and telling myself that it is just sweet flavoured vegetable fat. It worked, ha ha!
Oh yes and I have talked one of my friends into going to a dance class with me starting next week, hurrah!!!
So here's to a new beginning...

OK. Do you meal plan at all? I make a meal plan to get me totally a week ahead, and then into the next seven days provisionally....that way, say I buy..a cauliflower, I can plan two meals using it, not just use it up on consecutive days, or, after we have mussels I tend to have a leek or leek and potato soup which I use the left over mussel liquor. My plans are fluid, I can swap days, and sometimes I throw it up in the air and eat off menubut it really helps me plan shopping as much as eating. Meal planning in this way has saved me a lot of money, and helps me eat a varied, controlled diet.
I do this! I don't meal plan for an entire week or month, as I never know what exactly I'll be doing and I like having the flexibility to say yes to OH if he fancies the cinema or one of the girls if they want to go for a walk/have everyone round for dinner at theirs. But if I know I'm cooking for the next few nights I'll buy stuff with 2-3 meals in mind and will make an effort to use them up. If last minute stuff crops up there's always the option to put some in the freezer for some other time.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

re eggs, they used to say too many was bad (think they said three a week per person? but like most nutritional stuff, they seem to have revised this)

n.b. worth reading whole thing: its not without caveats.

I looove eggs!!!!! ((((((((eggs))))))))Hiya
I've been soooo good since I started this but I'm so down today I've just scoffed a box of ferroro rochers - ok it took me an hr but still. OH has no work this week so I'm job hunting for him, tidying up, making the bed, emptying the bins etc. He won't shift himself and he's not helping me and it's really gotten to me this evening. I had a bit of a weep before cause he's out at the football. I really don't know what to do with him sometimes... I feel like his mum, not his partner
sob story over; I'm back with a vengenance tomorrow. Promise. thanks for letting me get that out luvlies

Hey samace, have a hug from me! I hope things take a turn for the better for your OH soon and in the meantime don't let him take you for granted, He should be doing his share of the housework etc.Weigh in this morning was only 1/2 pound, but hey it's still a loss and I'm still on target to be about 9 stone for my 30th. Need to loose 1 pound a week to do this.
OMG that is amazing, how are you losing so much weight so close to your goal? Edit: ah, just remembered - aren't you eating under 1,000 cals a day? Hope you heed the advice the others have given and eat more, it might not shift the weight as quickly but you're more likely to keep it off xoxoGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi all
well things are not going all that well for me on the weight loss front this month. I really need to give myself a good talking to. So to get me in the zone for February I am going to:-
- reread my books
- watch my dvds again, and
- listen to my CD's
I am doing the Paul McKenna programme and when I was on board with it in November I lost 7lbs quite easily. However with being ill in December I kind of lost the motivation and have struggled to get it back this month. So I am starting again as if from fresh.
The good news is that whilst I haven't been following the plan at least I haven't put any weight on. Will let you know my final loss for January on Sunday.
I have that PMK CD as well but no CD player, must upload it onto the computer and put it on my iPod. Thanks for the reminder and good luck with your plan, sounds good xoHubby has talked me into going jogging with him:eek: so I am waiting for a sports bra to be delivered (pray for a postal strike please:rotfl:). Jogging is so not my thing.
I would die of happiness (and shock) if OH suggested that we should go running, he would never ever go running. He's a normal weight but not overly fit IYKWIM? I'm definitely the active one in our house! Although he does like going for walks.Valentina2 wrote: »Bramble1: I´m sure the walking makes a difference. This is so true! I walk to and from work, it's great as it gets me from A to B and burns calories at the same time! You don't need any special clothing to do it and it's low impact... perfect exercise!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

OK, thats me caught up... am exhausted now lol! It's good to be back, I am going to stay on track for the rest of the week.
Forgot to post my weight from this week, it was 136.6lbs, which is a 1lb loss! I am finally contributing to the losses!!!
It's still higher than a year ago, which is so disappointing. I started this challenge to lose weight and ended up putting it on! Never mind, I can still do it...Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Yes am eating about 1200 daily now, I really genuinly thought due to stats I should be eating that for a healthy weight loss. I am on a healthy living mission thjis year so would never intentionally do something that woud upset that balance.
I did feel really silly when I was corrected so for the record - I'm eating more lol!
My weight loss is actually overinflated as my first (heaviest) weight was an evening weight and I have switched to morning weigh in so I probably have lost 1 1/2 pounds less that stated.
My aim is to lose 1 pound a week which I hope/think is healthy. I put on about 4 stone while pregnant and now DS is 2 I feel that I need a final push to get back to my pre pregnancy weight.0 -

Hey, congratulations :Ttara747 wrote:Oh yes and I have talked one of my friends into going to a dance class with me starting next week, hurrah!!!
Anyone tried a full speed quickstep for 3 minutes?
It's very nearly running but a real buzz when your good enough to keep up and more or less do the steps right. Out of breath and all smiles when your done. We were doing it a year or so before we got to that standard and had the proper shoes by then.
Cannot recommend this highly enough, go bug your other halves to go with you or talk a friend into joining you for line dancing which we did a bit of on the side.
We still do Jive at weddings and such now, not as good as we used to be but we still get compliments
Anyone living south Hampshire within reach of Romsey interested and I'll put you in touch with our teacher if I can.0
