    I've been Money Tipped!
What about poached egg? (70 cals) or a fried egg (90 cals) on a wholegrain piece of toast, (check cals on your brand?) I eat a lot of eggs, because most of the time I ''grow my own'' in the garden and they suit me well.

My breakfast needs to be something i can eat on the go, i often have a yoghurt and some fruit, or a cereal bar. Not the best but better than nothing!

Nothing wrong with fruit, or indeed raw veg...apart from not being terribly sustaining, but I often have an apple too (and then another piece raw fruit/veg mid morning). In fact, its a great time to get one or two of your five a day in!

Also, skimmed milk: I find this a bit more sustaining, can be had as well as fruit, and also on the go. Incidentally for those of us who take meds that should go with meals milk is often the only way I can achieve this...if its good enough for that its good enough for a partial breakfast!

Also, things that can be made in advance are worth thinking about. On Mondays DH drinks coffee and eats porridge in the car while I drive, or on the train when I've dropped him off. :o

Well i folded and had a slice of this apple layer cake (im not going to try and spell it) four layers of thin shortbread with apple pie filling between each layer, enough sugar to sink the Titanic and clotted cream!!! life is too short not to have a slab..but i did have enough sense to take the dog with me when she picked me up so i had i 5mile walk home with a overfull belly (not so fun)

I feel fuller with eggs too LIR but find im overeating them we have gone 15 since sat (have used 6 for baking) so i will have to come up with other sources of protein as ive cut well back on cheese &nuts as i have portion control problems especially with cheese and would rather have none then a matchbox teaser.

Im ending the day on a high tho as i found i can get my wedding ring on again, haven't worn it in a year and still wont for a while as it still on the tight side, but i got it on and off with no hassles, TBH i could have cried, DH offer to get me another bigger one but it's wouldn't be the same.

Yeah, it's a good way to get fruit or veg into my diet, but it does make me hungry! I toyed with the idea of making porridge and putting in a thermos to eat on the train, but the though tof a metal spoon touching the metal of the thermos makes me feel sick!

So very happy for you about the wedding ring!

I'm having the opposite problem, I might have to stop wearing mine.

re eggs, they used to say too many was bad (think they said three a week per person? but like most nutritional stuff, they seem to have revised this)

    http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/asksam/healthydiet/eggsandpulsesq/
Lots of people think that you should only eat a certain number of eggs a week. In fact, most people don't need to limit how many eggs they have, if they are eating a balanced diet, which means basing meals on starchy foods and having plenty of fruit and veg, some dairy products and some foods that are good sources of protein, such as meat, fish, eggs, beans and lentils. Remember that we should try to eat a wide variety of foods to get all the nutrients we need.

Eggs are a good source of protein, iodine and vitamins such as D and B2. Poached or boiled eggs are a healthier choice than fried eggs, because you don't need to add fat during cooking. To make healthier scrambled egg, you could use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk rather than whole milk, and if you normally add butter, use a little low-fat spread instead or some vegetable oil such as sunflower oil.

n.b. worth reading whole thing: its not without caveats. :)

(strongly defending free range egg industry from my little corner here!:o :))

ok guys have done a weekly shop. i hope:cool: and i was hoping yous could give me some meal ideas:

chiken - enough for 2/3 meals going to make a curry in slow cooker for 1 meal

beef, enough for 2 meals, will make a stew in sc for 1

pork chops - was thinking of making them in sc with red peppers, onions and having cous cous with, but open to other ideas

large pack of lean mince, will make a lasagne that will do 2 meals but enough to make something else also

also have fish in freezer that will do 1 night and have loads of veg to do soup for lunches during the week:D

bought bananas and thought i would have toast and nanas for brekkie, better than just toast:o

    what do yous think:)

My very favorite chicken meal is with black olives, pickled lemons, onions, a little saffron, stock and cooked in a covered pot in the oven (or slow cooker)...and some chopped coriander at the end. Can pile in other veg of course, but I just love the lemons.

Also, chicken stew, heavy on the veg...lots and lots of veg, served withcabbage or srping greans, (non dieters can have dumplings too)

beef, enough for 2 meals, will make a stew in sc for 1
I make a more indulgent chillie with chunks of cheap stewing beef rather than mince. DH prefers it.
pork chops - was thinking of making them in sc with red peppers, onions and having cous cous with, but open to other ideas
My favourite is to cook with apples, sliced, and some onions, and a little yogurt (or cream) and a little cider or calvados. Omit the booze though, for the diet! Againe, I serve with cabbage usually, but probably red cabbage

large pack of lean mince, will make a lasagne that will do 2 meals but enough to make something else also

I made the most amazing ''cottage'' pie the other week, we caled it ''shack pie'' as it was cheaer than a cottage:D. It was a little mince, loads of lentils, and loads and loads and loads of mushrooms (very low cal), lentils, both red and green, celery, carrot, onion and lots of herbs, fresh and dried, some red wine and veg stock....and then the top had just 2 oz of cheddar cheese on a thin layer of mash. It fed loads of people, and was utterly delicious: the veg made it cheaper and much lower cal,

also have fish in freezer that will do 1 night and have loads of veg to do soup for lunches during the week:D

I cook white fish in the oven with finely sliced onions in rings, black olives, new potatos and halved or cherry tomatoes.

bought bananas and thought i would have toast and nanas for brekkie, better than just toast:o

    what do yous think:)

Well done for planning, what I notice is that you are planning round your protein. It would be worth omiting the pok chops...very fatty, though delicious, and cutting down on the red meat (beef & mince) and having say, two fish based meals, or a couple of veggy nights a week. :) Partly for dieting, but also for general health and economy!

    well done for planning!

Lemon Chicken and Garlic Rice is a fave of mine! (let me know if you want recipe)
    Fajitas
Chicken breast stuffed with low fat soft cheese, garlic and spinach

beef, enough for 2 meals, will make a stew in sc for 1

Beef and Black Bean Sauce Stir Fry

pork chops - was thinking of making them in sc with red peppers, onions and having cous cous with, but open to other ideas

I grill pork chops then glaze them with maple syrup serve with new pots and veg

large pack of lean mince, will make a lasagne that will do 2 meals but enough to make something else also

    Homemade burgers
    Tacos
    Chilli Con Carne

    Hiya
I've been soooo good since I started this but I'm so down today I've just scoffed a box of ferroro rochers - ok it took me an hr but still. OH has no work this week so I'm job hunting for him, tidying up, making the bed, emptying the bins etc. He won't shift himself and he's not helping me and it's really gotten to me this evening. I had a bit of a weep before cause he's out at the football. I really don't know what to do with him sometimes... I feel like his mum, not his partner :(
sob story over; I'm back with a vengenance tomorrow. Promise. thanks for letting me get that out luvlies :)
