Morning all! - well it was when I started writing this!
Well everyone seems to be doing well and motivated, TARA747, could you try maltesers, and just have a couple at a time? that way they last longer and you get the choccy kick! Chocolate is my 'thing', but i manage to go without nearly everyday and just have a treat one or twice a week. (I have been known to take a bit of DS choccy - how naughty am I? or we share a packet of malteser's on the way back from school.) I find it easier just to have a little bit of someones else's rather than the whole one of my own. That way I can justify having a treat later on.
FlareStar, I eat twiglets as a snack, or fruit like grapes or an apple.
And to my weigh in this morning- I stayed the same! Oh well, my home scales were saying that i'd lost 2lb's - so they can't be trusted!!!!! Will stick to the chemist ones until i'm a skinny minny :rotfl: (yeah right!)
Obviously the TOTM (which finished today) didn't register, maybe it will next week. I must admit, didn't do much exercise last week, but now all the snow has gone I'm determined to do more this week. Already got one 45 min walk under my belt today, and about to take DS to nursery in a bit so should be another 40mins in total to add to that by the time i've picked him up later, so off to a good start!
Have a good day everyone.
Edit to add. Measured my bust and i've gone down an inch, so all going in the right direction!:money::money::money::money:

Hello all
I've lost count of the number of times over the past few days that I've sat down to post on this thread then been interrupted, normally by a child wanting x, y or z :rotfl: I've not had a very good few days in terms of diet, too much chocolate but I have had something to celebrate - DH won his redundancy appeal, so he gets to keep his job (for now anyway!) :j
I'm back with the program now, healthy meals planned for the week plus exercise (spinning/aerobics/weights) on Tues, Thur and Fri.
Tara747 - I'm the same when it comes to chocolate and constantly beat myself up over it, so I'm not the best person to give advice, but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. As for those Options Hot choc drinks, have you tried any of the different varieties they do? I really dislike their Belgian Choc one, but the Cracking Hazelnut, Orange and Mint are lovely.

How do other chocoholics cope???
I don't suppose you watched this over the weekend?

Chocolate pudding using carrot as a sweetener because during WW2 sugar was rationed. Didn't manage to make a note of the recipe unfortunately but carrot is obviously much lower calorie than sugar and they said children couldn't tell the difference.
I wonder if we can find the recipe somewhere...0 -
Chocolate, crisps and wine ( and cheese) are very much my weak points. This week has been particularly bad but I generally manage better by allowing myself these at weekends only.
I'd rather do this than eat the diet stuff, normally it is much too sweet for me ( esp the chocolate drinks) and I do try and avoid too much processed food. Most diet stuff seems to be made in a lab.
If I start eating chocolate or crisps then that is the whole bar or packet; I can't stop at a taste however much I want to.

Tara, apart from hormonal cravings I really have found if you don't eat the sweet stuff you kind of lose the taste. If its milk chocolate swao to dark, they say other wise what you are craving is the sugar, not the chocolate. Howabaout instead of having daily chocolate trying to have a luxury chocolate once a ...brace yourself...fortnight? Because I don't have daily chocolate I don't feel bad that my hormone stash is an expensive purchase of low sugar pralines from Hotel Chocolate.0

Yay for your DH!!!!! :T:T:T I'm so glad for you.
Thanks, I have actually tried all the flavours (lol) and don't like any of them. Which is a terrible shame as they are so low cal!poshstock66 wrote: »TARA747, could you try maltesers, and just have a couple at a time? that way they last longer and you get the choccy kick! I do usually try to have a little at a time, but it is usually Nutella straight from the jar with a spoon! One of the girls at work got me into that habit and it is soooo bad.
Well done on the reduced measurements and the walking!!!! :j:jI don't suppose you watched this over the weekend?

I would love to try that, thanks! Let's try to find it, first one to post it here wins a year's supply of carrots! :rotfl:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Now this sounds like something I could do! I am the same as you, I can't restrict myself to just a little at a time.I agree, I'd rather have a bit of the real thing than a bigger quantity of the diet version.

This is true too LIR. Anytime I give up sweets/choc for Lent I do lose the taste for them after about ten days. But it's getting through those ten days!!! But then I guess smokers who give up probably feel even worse. (Is nicotine withdrawal worse than sugar withdrawal?)
I might try Amanita's suggestion first (as I am a wuss) and have chocolate just at weekends. That gives me something to look forward to all week. Then I might go hardcore and try for every fortnight! :rotfl:
OK then, here we go... I am screwing the lid back on the jar as we speak and having NO MORE chocolate or sweets till Saturday. I promise to report back here every day (if that's ok). Hopefully this will help massively, as my meals are actually very healthy - it's the sweet stuff (and too much of it) that's my downfall.
This has been very therapeutic and you are all full of good advice and so helpful. Sorry for hijacking the thread!!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Tara747: I love chocolate too and the only way I can guarantee I will not eat any chocolate is to not have any in the house so there is NO TEMPTATION AT ALL. Give any chocolates you have away to family or friends or take them into work if you cannot trust yourself not to eat them. It´s hard but as you said, you feel bad afterwards and you DO want to lose weight to feel better about yourself. Think that what you really deserve is a healthy, slim body and you are not going to get that if you are eating chocolates everyday. I just had a bad sweet craving so just had three dates.0

Valentina, you are right. I have already given away all the chocs and sweets I don't like (lol) but will get rid of the rest. I'll give the ones I do like to OH and tell him not to let me have any till the weekend. And then I might find that I don't want them so much anyway! Here's hoping
I got a bit freaked out when I saw that doctor on BBC news this morning saying that people eat so much high fat food that he is now regularly seeing heart bypass patients in their 30s!!! It got me thinking... OK so I don't eat burgers, sausages, chips, pizzas etc - but I do love cheese, chocolate and butter. I eat cheese and butter in moderation but still. I am eating plenty of saturated fat and this could happen to me someday! I know a man who is very slim and had to have a heart bypass as his arteries were totally clogged up, so your outer appearance is not necessarily an indicator of your heart health.
