:TWell done to those who've lost:T

No loss for me this week, but no gain either, so not upset. Hubby has been "sorting" tea this week as I've been decorating, so we've had Indian takeaway one night, burgers the next... Bit funny, because last Sunday he was telling me how he was going to be eating healthy and I'm to encourage him to eat more veg! I'll be sorting tea out this week so hopefully I'll actually have a loss to report next week.

Valentina, I've tried to slow down my eating as well - I find it really difficult, it's one of the things Paul McKenna recommends - he said to try actually putting your cutlery/sandwich down whilst you chew. Since having kids I think I've got into the habit of eating quickly whilst I've got the chance:o I'm thinking of trying a sip of juice/water in between mouthfulls as well - thinking of the diet show and how the father/priest was breaking his cola habit:D

Ok, so after a hard week eating healthily and going to the gym 3 times........my weight GAIN in my first full week of my new regime is 1lb 12 ounces. Better not put that in with everyone's totals OP.

Utterly demoralised now and feel a complete failure. :(
Please don't feel like that :(

Remember, muscle weighs more than fat so if you're working out you will appear to put on weight, even though you're losing inches.

    You're doing great! :j

Sorry I wasn't around Friday night or yesterday ladies (and gents!) but I thought spending time with Dr Dragon and the Furry Dragon (tm) was a good idea :p, but Dr Dragon has taken the Furry Dragon (tm) out to terrorise the neighbourhood (okay, okay he's taken the Cairn terrier out for a walk!) and I am playing catch up.

I have put in everyone's weight losses (and one muscle gain! deedee71 I am sure that is a blip and if you stick with it you will have a decent loss next week) and we have now lost 108.5 pounds between us!
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

my 1st weight- in day today!!!! ....and i lost 1lb!...so am heading in the right direction..... was good all week up until y'day where was a bit a naughty......but in my defence it was not my fault ......some inconsiderate members of family decided to fill up on junk whilst watching a dvd.....im talking chocs, crisps, dips, donuts, sweets, popcorn just laying there on the table taunting me "eat me, eat me".............i did help myself to couple of sugar covered donuts (soooo nice) and some chocs...and some crisps...and well u get the idea:o.......so could have potentialy lost more than 1lb.......
    :EasterBun <
this icon has never been more true!!!! :rotfl:

but hey 1lb lost is better than 1lb gained!!! i have to say this loss has made me more determined to lose the other 2lb for jan!!!!

working 2moro can anyone advise on healthy snacks plz??? as at work i tend to go for the easy option of choc bars / crisps......

keep up the amazing work everyone!!!!:T
Losing (lbs) for ........a healthier future.......:)
    Saving (£) for.........a secure future.......:)

  • Thank you to those who suggested ways to try and eat more slowly. I made a cherry tomato, mozzarella and pasta salad for lunch today and we had that with the chicken leftover from yesterday. I ate the first half quickly (I forgot to try to eat slowly) but then as I was halfway through, I remembered and slowed down. I like the idea of putting the cutlery down between bites and counting the number of chews. I only saw those suggestions this evening but I will try and remember to do that too.
I had four chocolates after lunch which wasn´t a good idea but I took the dog out for a very long walk this morning and will take her out again for a long walk to try and wear them off.
I haven´t weighed myself since last week but my jeans don´t feel as tight so that´s a good sign.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Not weighed in again yet, but had a panic when jeans felt tight this morning, turns out it was ''normal'' hormonal bloat (grrr, its the only thing I hate about being a woman) and is now on the way out. (Also explains mad carb cravings)

No snow and ice mean doing the horses to day was harder (no sliding big bales around on snbow/ice, actually had to carry and lift haynets) but more calorie burning! And also means there is no reason I shouldn't resume walking tomorrow :) I'm going to take it a bit slowly tomorrow though, its been such a long spell of bad weather and enforced huddling.

Ooh SAD is not good (speaking as another sufferer here!), I was actually better when we had the snow because at least it was bright when the sun was shining!

Hear hear! I liked the brightness of the snow and the way it illuminated everything. I suffer from SAD and am so happy the evenings are getting longer!

I eat too quickly and then find that I always want a dessert (although this is usually a yoghurt or some fruit). I know I should eat more slowly but I always forget as I am usually ravenous by dinnertime. It sounds silly but I am thinking about sticking a post-it note on the dining room table telling myself to slow down. OH eats slowly (and is slim) and I have usually finished my meal by the time he´s only halfway through his. Have any of you managed to teach yourself to eat more slowly? Any tips?

I am a naturally slow eater, probably because our family always talks nineteen to the dozen at mealtimes! I am the same with OH, we talk lots during meals so this does slow you down. I agree with those who say you should put your cutlery down between bites, and also try eating a smaller forkful at a time. That will make your meal last longer too. :)

I've had a mixed weekend - quite a bit of food and drink, but also a good amount of walking. 6 weeks till my hols and I am panicking!!!!! WI tomorrow morning, I am not hopeful tbh.

You are all doing soooo well (inc. deedee - it will show next week). Special mention to The Dragon, way to go lady!!!!
