As expected I gained today - not quite as bad I thought it might have been

1lb gain - but I am back on task and planning a couple of swims or gyms after work and maybe even a bit of walking this week. Now dd is on the mend and the ice has vanished have no excuse really. Did an hour on the wii today - every little helps LOL.

    Morning all

Thats a great attitude to have Milann.

Im having an odd day today (nothing new im odd anyway :) ) woke up at 3am and could of had my breckie then, think its because im due on.
Today im bored sick of thinking about food 24/7 the whole what can we have for tea & how many cals in a brussle sprout is starting to get to me, on the + side once this month is over we can follow the same menu next month and i can just start cutting the portion sizes down if necessary.

Food today is porridge for breckie, (surprise) soup for lunch, dinner at hubby request, veggie burger, salad & potato wedges (if i mention cottage cheese again for the next 7 days he will probably ask for a divorce)

    Have a good day

137.6lbs today, almost 1lb gained this week. :(

I feel awful. I know it's probably mainly from the weekend but I just feel like I'm going backwards. And I have nobody to blame but myself. I still can't go a day without eating chocolate. Isn't that terrible? And it feels pleasurable at the time but afterwards I know I've jeopardised my eating plans for the day. I am putting the short high pleasure of eating the chocolate (which lasts 2 minutes!!) before the long term pleasure of losing weight (which could last forever). Looking at it like that, it seems even more insane.

I went to the supermarket yesterday and stocked up on healthy low cal treats e.g. rice cakes, extra light cream cheese, honey (to have a smidge with the above) etc etc. And I am determined to be good today.

    How do other chocoholics cope???

    Yes, good attitude milann!!!

tori.k, LOL @ the cottage cheese!! :rotfl:

I have been thinking about my holiday. I stood in front of the mirror after WI, and said to myself: fast forward 6 weeks... do I want to go on holiday looking like this, how would that make me feel? Of course I don't. I really really really want to look good and feel confident and fit into all my nice holiday clothes!!!
I need to stay on track to achieve this. That's all there is to it. So I have a choice - momentary pleasure of eating chocolate and lasting misery of weight gain, or little daily sacrifices and lasting pleasure of weight loss. And they say it only takes 21 days to form a habit, including giving something up!!

Off to try on my too-small jeans for some motivation. Have a good day y'all.

Well done to everyone this week :T

Please don't feel like that :(

Remember, muscle weighs more than fat so if you're working out you will appear to put on weight, even though you're losing inches.

    You're doing great! :j

DeeDee I also gained 1lb this week . (Sorry Dragon) According to my scales which do fat percentages I am 1% less in fat?

Also I had to go in to sign on this week (first time ever :o), and took out my thicker jeans, they were loose :j - thanks Freyasmum, I think you are right.
Thank you folks for all you support, normally I would have gone straight for the chocolate biscuits in the past. Today I headed here instead, now have renewed courage and resolve.

So this week as well as watching the calories I will increase my exercise, well to be honest with this terrible weather the only exercise I have been doing is housework and filling the bird feeders

I live in a small village and one of our neighbours has a small friendly overweight dog; as she has a new job in the city, she asked me to walk him. So I will schedule in a lunchtime walk every day - do you think it would be better to walk him before or after lunch?

    Morning peeps

KCSUNSHINE- personally I'd walk the dog before lunch as then you work up a bit more of an appetite and you might appreciate the food you eat more? Just a thought cause I've never had a dog to walk before :)
I had a good weekend; lots of walking on saturday as I trawled the not so local charity shops and walked there and back - 3 miles! :D
then yesterday I went to see Nickelback in the Echo Arena, standing and so the combination of singing loudly and standing for about 3 hrs in a packed arena with no seats did me the world of good I think and I remembered to sip on water through the gig so no alcohol either! yay!
Weigh in today...... dum dum dum dum - I'll be back to report this evening
    Take care peeps

Tara - if you really can't give up choc, is there any way you can pick a low-ish cal bar and just work that into your food for the day? (not sure if you're calorie counting etc) Doesn't seem very productive to keep beating yourself up over wanting it!

(I am allergic to choc so I don't have this problem)

Well done to everyone - I see some great losses here.

Well on my "diet" of crisps chocolate and red wine - I weighed in this morning at 10 8 which is a miracle. I've actually managed to lose!

I have my SAD lamp switched on and now the weather has improved a bit I've been able to drop the roof on my car on the way to work ( this makes a huge difference - probably more than the lamp).

If I can manage to ignore that **** tin of Roses someone gave me for christmas I will I hope do better this week.

I should try this, but I don't really like those drinks (argh). Thanks for the suggestion though! Maybe more cups of herbal tea would help, especially if I put some fresh mint into them.

You are soooo lucky!! I know that sounds flippant but I would like to come out in a MASSIVE rash every time I so much as sniffed anything chocolatey or sugary. Really I would. But I guess the effects are more subtle for me i.e. getting fat! So I am sort of allergic to it in a way. I keep reading about anti-inflammatory foods and alkalines foods, apparently they are the way forward. I must do some more reading, if anything it will keep me from snacking!

I just need to exercise some self control TBH. It's strange - I can be so restrained with money no problem at all, and am even doing well on the no more toiletries challenge, so why can't I apply this to food??

My legs feel pleasantly achy from all the walking yesterday (about 2.5 hours and lots of hills) and I forgot I also did 3 hours of housework on Saturday. :A I just need to keep up the exercise, eat less and I will lose weight!

I am definitely going back to my walking habit, would love to go running again but am only just recovering from my ankle injury so prob not a good idea just yet. When I was slim I used to walk for at least 2 hours a day and now it's down to about an hour or so. It must make a difference!

    Amanita, well done!!! :T:T

samace83 - good luck with the WI!!

KCsunshine, what a lovely neighbour you are and you get the benefit of exercise while doing a good turn!! Maybe I should take up dog walking and make a few £££s while I'm at it lol.
