  • I still haven't found my mojo... so going to join Weightwatchers tomorrow... I need to get some control on my portions so hoping this will help. The first week is free - just as well cos I am seriously skint!
Just looking at booking a cheap holiday in May for me and my dd. We haven't had a holiday since I left the psycholunatic I was married to.... and that was 8 years ago... so think we deserve this. Also gives me a bit of motivation to drop the blubber.
Its a lovely sunny day here today - so Im off for a yomp with the dog!

  • Hi, I've been AWOL as trying to book a holiday apartment online has taken up hours of time. Some days I've kept within my calories but some days have gone over, although only disasterously twice. I'll be getting weighed tomorrow morning. Now my holiday is booked I have 13 weeks to lose as much weight as possible-without being stupid- so am quite motivated today. I'd love to lose 2 stone by then but think 1.5 would be a better goal to aim for. We'll see-my sister is coming over from Canada to go with us and its nearly 3 years since she saw me. If I could lose 2 stone I shouldn't look much fatter than when she was last here!

That is GREAT motivation! How about printing/cutting out a photo of the holiday apartment and a photo of your sister and sticking them somewhere highly visible so you remember your goal in any weak moments?

I'm actually really enjoying this diet. It's making me think a lot more about flavours and making food tasty without adding calories.

I've just had another delicious meal:

Chicken quarter (99p for 2 in Aldi!) 181 cal - could use breast though.
Squeeze juice of 1 lemon on top - 12 cal
ground pepper and crushed garlic on top - 1 cal
whole clove of garlic in skin cooking next to chicken. - 1 cal

Total = 195 (although I did share the quarter with my son!)

cook in oven for about 30 mins. crush the whole clove of garlic andd get the mush out of the skin. Mix the paste in with the juices. skim off fat.

I removed the skin to reduce fat and cals and served with a heap of cabbage, spinach and mangetout. Grand total about 230 cal. You could add some mash as well, would be lovely with the juices...
