  • Hello Dragon and all,

I am MINUS 3LB (no 29 on the list) today. BTW the red big letters are so that Dragon sees it - not cos I think I am fab:rotfl: - because I think most of it is due to me having the runs yesterday! (sorry TMI?) Feeling very sicky so not sure what to have today. Probably rehydration sachet:o
I am doing ok with the no wine so long as I have a thimble-full of port of an evening.
I am still eating far too much dark chocolate but at least no biscuits.
I did have a blip last week when I had almost a whole Tarte au Citron to myself (grudgingly gave DH a slice) .
Haven't really had a "normal" week yet so very unusure how things are going really.
Been watching the Biggest Loser (USA - Couples) for motivation when I can. Catching up intermittently on people's posts but enjoying nosying into your eating habits etc.

    Sparkly

Snowing up here, again. I've already fallen over, again. It seems no matter what boots I wear I fall regardless..... grrr......
Brekkie has been an Activia yoghurt and a cup of Hot Honey (Honey in hot water). That way I get a sugar fix without eating sweeties :D
Lunch will be two wholegrain rolls with less than 50g marge and 100g cheese and dinner is probably lentil soup with steamed veg. OH will probably want chips - which I can cook without feeling tempted :) He had pizza last night, ate it in front of me, and I was surprisingly ok about it. I must be doing something right.
Oh, forgot to mention I will also be snacking on 2 satsumas, 1 banana, 1 apple and a Actimel Strawberry yoghurt drink as well as drinking green tea and water.
    Hope everyone's ok
    Sam x

Hampshire is shut down by snow again. I've only been to work for 2 days this year and I only made it in once the week before Christmas
    I want a 4x4 so badly now :o
On the bright side I think I've lost 1lb of 4lbs I'm aiming for for this month.

is it just me but do u not think that diet (big fat diet) is really unhealthy 1200 cals is to low for a start and its teaching u to eat the wrong things.
bascially u could fill up on rubbish all day and miss all the good stuff which u r having to restrict (sorry i'm a slimming world girl i'm used being able to eat as much as i like)

they have seen some good weightlosses mind i just wonder if they r able to keep them off

sorry thats my 2p for today hope i haven't upset anyone i don't mean to

I don't particularly agree with the way they're doing it as they seem to still be saying that you can eat loads of crap, unhealthy stuff and none of the women actually seem that motivated to stop eating so many cakes & choc. However I've been on a roughly 1200 cal diet since August and it's working for me. I don't feel starved, I'm still eating plenty of food and it's quite healthy and I've lost over 4 stone. It's all about what you choose to make up your calorie limit with so I wouldn't ever advocate just sticking to 1200 cals regardless of what you're actually eating, it's all about retraining yourself to eat healthily and not stuff yourself with so much snacky, junk food (if that makes sense!)

You haven't upset me at all btw, I'm all for a bit of healthy debate, but I just wanted to say that it's perfectly easy (if boring) to maintain that level of calorie intake for longer than two weeks! :D

I weighed myself this morning and have lost 4lbs :j since 2nd Jan, which I'm really pleased with :D I didn't manage to avoid the chocolate biscs last night unfortunately, but weighing in this morning has given me motivation to carry on rather than beating myself up over it.

Tinkerbellsmum - I agree with some of what you say about the Big Fat Diet Show on C4 and I do think that dropping a dress size in two weeks is unrealistic for most of us. The losses the women had during the first week were really good, but it was no surprise that the weight loss had slowed and last night's losses were more modest. I can see a lot of those women going straight back to their old eating habits when the show is over.

Coco1980 - it must feel great to fit into those new jeans - well done :T

    AdrianHi - well done :T

Sparklymesssygirl - every cloud has a silver lining :rotfl: Well done!

    :T:T Well done!
There is absolutely no better motivator than being able to fit into a smaller size!
Weighed in this morning and have lost 3.5lb!!:j:j
Am very pleased although I do deserve it. I ran 4 evenings last week along with 2 x 1hr cardio gym sessions. As well as doing reasonably well food wise, I would have been totally gutted if the scales had not shown a good loss.
Keep up the motivation guys - I started doing this challenge at the start of last year at the same weight and gave up pretty quickly. Now I am totally kicking myself and thinking that if I had kept with it and even succeeded 6 months out of the 12, I would be 3 stone lighter now!:mad:

I agree, it is quite a low calorie intake (esp if you are active), but they are slowly cordoning off aisles in the 100 cal supermarket! Last week it was crisps etc and this week it's sweet stuff. So they are taking away the junk one thing at a time!

I think it is a fab programme just because it has lots of useful tips, and Matt Dawson's recipes are excellent. :T

    Hi everyone,
I have only lost 1 lb this month but I overdid it on the wine at the weekend and had a couple of leftover christmas chocs on Saturday and Sunday but I am back on track now and spent over 2 and a half hours walking briskly yesterday.(Do you burn more calories when you are shivering because it is so cold?- It was freezing walking home from work last night!)
I hope to lose more before weight before the rest of the month as I really want to get back into two pairs of trousers I have that are too tight.
Well done to all of you who, like me, have had the odd blip but have managed to get back on track.

I lost 2.5 pounds at last night's weigh in, but this morning I was 4 pounds less, so i'm now 9 stone 11 1/2 pounds.
Next week will weigh in Wednesday morning so will be a better indication of actual weight loss.
Dragon - can we record 4 pounds please?

Just thought I'd edit this to share my delicious lunch with you all!

I picked up a couple of tins of soup yesterday in Aldi (started shopping there regularly now I'm dieting as their veg is so much cheaper than my local supermarkets)
Just had 1/2 tin of Chunky Chilli Beef soup with 1 slice of seedy brown bread (toasted, no butter) and I added several chopped jalepenos for heat (find if I add chilli to my food I eat slower so feel satisfied IYSWIM)

Soup is 95 cal per 1/2 tin and bread is 80 plus 2 for the chillis so total = 177 cals

The soup is really chunky so could be watered down or a some tinned tomatos could be added for more volume. There are lots of kidney beans, diced potato and big chunks of beef in it too. The can was only about 50p so very MSE.

Oh and as I said before delicious!
