  • I've been so busy today I've only just had the scrambled egg on toast that I meant to cook for breakfast. :o

I think my plan is to watch my portion sizes, cut down on bread and doughy things and don't snack on empty calories (fizzy drinks/chocolate etc).

I will also eat when I'm hungry rather than following set mealtimes - it suits me to have a late breakfast/brunch at around 11am, then a very light snack around 2pm and 4pm and then an evening meal around 6pm. I am still cooking as normal for the family, I will have a smaller serving or not have the carby element of the meal. I drank loads of water yesterday and, apart from sending me to the loo every hour, I feel better for it. :j

DH has a new job with a very early start so he takes the car to the station each morning and I have to go and pick it up. This means a brisk 20 minute uphill walk which can only be good. :T

:rotfl:Just been on the wii fit for the first time in over a year, I weigh 1 stone and 1lb more than my last weigh in....how horrible!
It's scary to see how easily my weight has rocketed in the lkast 18 months, but I'm determined now to have it under control! Will power...hmmm...

I'm doing something that I did before which is not to diet, I won't gain anything from starvation, I need to cut out the rubbish that I shovel into my mouth when I see it, and be more active....

I really feel like this thread helps too, people who understand me that I can 'confess' to!!!! :T

So thanks everyone, let's be successful together!

how about growing some in pots, i always grow my own mix salad in a large window box i find if i buy it i end up throwing half a limp lettuce out, sprouting mung beans in a jam jar is easy and taste great, there are loads of veg that are quite happy in a container, be warned you will end up with seedlings in every window in the house,

Can I join please? I know I'm quite late into the month so I'll put down 3 pounds, if I loose more then great.
I'm not really sure where to start, I find calorie counting hard as I cook from scratch so no packets to go by and I'm too busy to use charts and weigh everything. I'm hoping that smaller portions, less alcohol and less fattening things where possible might work, I'll see how I get on anyway.
I bought new scales today and weighed in at 10 stone 1 1/2 lb. I want to get down to 9 stone by May but would rather be 8 1/2.
Looking forward to joining you all

Just registered on the website and it said I should be 7 1/2 stone. Now I feel really fat, think I'll not be going back on there!
  • OK - going to do a brain dump now :) I am really struggling today - got up late - breakfast late - everything late - home so late - started cooking but it won't be ready to eat until 10pm. So in the meantime I bungled together anything immediately edible - chickpeas, spinach and one of those Soffrito pouches with a bit of curry powder - had it with rice - not very nice :(
Lunch was make do with some rice and beans - all I had in. Been nibbling on chocolate (bought the dark stuff but didn't get it quite dark enough to put me off eating a fair bit - IYKWIM) and fruit pastilles as I've been cobbling all this mish mash together.
The good stuff I ate today was muesli with a bit of milk and fresh yogurt with lots of seeds (for omega 3). No wine :)
Not sure what to do now - as I don't feel as if I have had a "proper" meal - it must be psychological because I am not hungry.
I guess the moral here is to plan better and have more healthy and satisfying options sitting around the house.

Haven't had time to keep up with everyone yet but dipping in and out it seems that many of you are very disciplined - well done!
