Okay just finished filling out the food diary for the dietician tomorrow - 4 days completed and bearing in mind that I am allowed 2,450 kcals a day (indeed it is recommended) I have a day and a half's kcals in hand! I feel stuffed and am not looking forward to what they have to say *sigh*

I think I'm going to have to start thinking of some new lunches as I don't seem to be eating enough fruit and veg unless it's a veggie soup day. I don't snack on fruit as it just makes me hungrier. I'm doing fine calorie wise with my meals but it only seems to be main meals that end up containing veg. Does anyone have any interesting ideas?

  • Hello all :hello:
Day 1 for me and so far so good. I am also heartened by the fact that I weighed half a stone less than expected when I weighed myself at the weekend but it is still way, way too much.

Anyway, aims for January are as follows-

    1. Walk with Henry everyday- this will mostly be with him in his sling and I'm aiming for 1-2 miles a day at a good pace.
    2. Healthy breakfast everyday, five fruit and veg everyday, soup or salad for lunch, only snack on fruit or yogurt during the day.
    3. No takeaways
    4. No booze (not that hard as the last time I was drunk was NYE 2008)
    5. Drink more water

Not very extreme, but as I am BFing my six week old son, this is enough for me for now as I don't want to affect my supply.

I've signed up for the ten mile Great South Run in October, so need to get back into running but I will be doing this very slowly initially as I haven't run (or done anything high impact) for nearly a year .
:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator :p

have you tried bananas? they should fill you up for longer...

ok for lunch boxes (i loved these)
panini spread with pesto topped with some rocket lettuce, tomato and cheese (or cold meat whatever you want really)
put in the george forman or whatever and cooked for 6 mins ...cut in half left to cool and into the tupperware tub ...lovely ...also a wee handful of nuts is nice to add in (goes well with the pesto)
