since i'm here, i might as well join in, hadn't i?
at the craft shop yesterday i was tempted to buy a reduced DMC colour variations mini kit, but decided i should wait untill i've finished the mothers day flowers i'm doing. Then the Estate Agent rang to book a viewing - the first since early Jan... so i took it as a sign and bought the kit!
(it's piccy is below, but i only did the windows and door last night. Not the masterpieces you are all working on, but i've got to start somewhere!)Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -

Ooooh definitely does sound like a sign! Perhaps you are destined to sew this picture to hang in your new home! I think it's lovely.
Fingers crossed the viewing goes well. We sold our house a couple of years ago, it has got to be one of the most stressful things ever, I've vowed never to move house again LOL.:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -

Hi 23rdspiral.
I bought one of these at a craft fair a few years back; it's been on several flights with me now, without any trouble at all.
What's more, if this is the same as mine, it's got a magnet on the back so I don't lose my needle when not working0 -

Sweetcarer - can I ask what the stitch count is on your "golden earth" and how many colours it has? only I seem to remember there being some difference in the finished sizes and can't figure out how -unless the stitch count is different  -it is driving me nuts :rotfl: -and if it the same as the one I have -can you start it asap -so I have someone to go cross eyed with please
Hi Mrs Mac
I have still to start ordering the materials for my golden earth. I am thinking of starting it when I finish the floral alphabet - just finishing W off.
I have counted the thread count and it is 75 DMC threads. Size is 129w x 236h in stitches or 9 1/8 x 16 3/4 inches for 14 hpi. (Don't know what HPI to do it on yet maybe 14 hpi). The pattern is on 6 A4 pages. I have it on PDF file, so I can print out more copies if I need it
I have no money just now to buy the materials - next week is wages day and have to see with hubby if that is ok I buy them.
Sorry if this seems like a sorry excuse not to start the same time as you.
Kind wishes

oooohhh sweetcarer
You don't have to explain-I know you are finishing your floral alphabet first (can't have more UFOs can we :rotfl:).... but when you start yours we can cheer each other along
I don't know where the differences must be but mine has
stitch count -234 X 403
80 DMC colours
and finished size is 16.7" X 28.7" -thats on 14ct -Im doing 28ct so its the same size
I have started and Im working on the globe -but at the moment it a bit Rolf Harris - "can you tell what it is yet?" -and the answer is NO :rotfl:
I swear its even making the HAE one I have just done like doing a winnie the pooh
right I had better get off and get a bit more done
Hope everyone is having a good day-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
