    Evening all

Thanks for the lovely comments :p -I have JUST finished getting all the threads bagged n tagged and the fabric in place ready to make a start :o -its a pain in the bum, but if Im not organised I get grumpy :rotfl:

Judellie -Im not sure which I prefer now -your tigers or the baby rangytang :T-Do you work from copies of the pattern ? if so -let me know if ever you want to sell/swap once you have done them as those 2 would look looooooovely with our tigers n birds x-stitches ;)

Kez-I always frame them myself -but getting frames is a b*gger out here -so I will be on the look out, and then I want a mossy/bay green mount -which I can get cut on camp (he makes frames too but they are expensive and really poor quality :(). I have a list of design sizes in my purse so I can try and grab a bargain -should one appear..

    pm2326
I think that the sewing has come out as a really good likeness to the picture -once it is up on the wall I think it will look like a picture:T

Right -I might go and make a start :p

I have finally settled on doing this one next:-
    goldenearthwu7.th.jpg
I got the chart back in 2005 :o-so its about bloomin time :rotfl:....
The rest of my afternoon will be spent putting my threads from forest light back in the folders and then labelling the bags and sorting the threads for my newbie ...
I think this one may take some time as she is 16.7" X 28.7" and having looked at the chart its heapppppps of confetti stitch

Don't say that MrsMac - I am planning to do this one at some point in the future.

What wonderful pieces of work ladies! :T:T
:TCongratulations especially, to Mrs M for finishing, it looks amazing! :T

I have just got home after taking DS2 to and from Leeds for a two-day rugby camp, and just had to catch up tonight! (we should hear whether he has got picked for the Scotland u-17s team in 2 or 3 weeks...fingers crossed!!)

I stayed overnight at a B&B in Leeds, and managed to get some of the Astronomer done yesterday afternoon and evening, as well as this morning...very slow as lots of confetti stitches..incredibly time consuming!

I will sort out uploading piccies tomorrow, once I have found my camera!!

I'm after a decent new frame for my stitching,...... I've seen this one on sew and so, does anyone have one and is it any good?

Happy birthday Shelly, hope you had a lovely day! :bdaycake:
Re the lap frame - I have it too, on recommendation from Louise!!
My Astronomer will be over 3 feet by 2 feet when finished, but I have managed to fold the material to be useable with this frame. I tend to use it at a table - best for my bad back, and poor eyesight!

Right off to bed soon, as it was a long trip down. We came via Manchester as the M1 was closed!! There was some snow when up and over the pennines, but Leeds itself was wonderfully sunny, and (dare I say it!) warm...well, out of the wind at Golden Acre Park, which was wonderfull. I wouldn't mind going back there in the summer to see everything in leaf and bloom (though the witch-hazels were wonderful and fragrant today).

    Night, night everyone.

Have been looking at this kit to go in the kitchen http://www.xstitchcrafts.com/cross-stitch-kits-household-c-19_26/gourmet-abc-p-1008 but want to get the best price I can before ordering :D
I like this kind of sampler type kit because to me its like lots of small projects coming together as one.

Result!! Hubby asked what I was going to get with my birthday money so I said I had seen a x-stitch kit I fancied. He said If I order it before midnight it's still technically my birthday so he will buy it for me :rotfl:

Just off to order it now......

  • Hi MrsM

I always work from copies, I totally trash them by using highlighter pens to show what I've already done, so it's handy to have the original to refer to sometimes:o
You're more than welcome to PM me if you want copies

  • Hi Keiss 21

Good luck to your son, that's a fantastic level to be playing at. We hear in about 3 weeks whether or not ds2 gets re-signed for Chelsea Academy, although he's a lot younger than your son, it's still important to him - he's been there 3 years already.

    Fingers crossed for them

Thanks Jude, good luck to your DS2 too...I think at times it's more nerve-racking for us parents that the boys...certainly my son seems very laid back (but then, he is about everything else too!!).

If he does get picked, he will have 3 training sessions in March in Scotland on Friday afternoons!! This will mean trips up on Thursday nights as it is a good 7 hours journey north...the things we do for our kids!!

    Morning all

Im up and about as hubby got back in from the uk at 3:45am this morning  -so being a good wife -I have got up so he can stretch out and have a lie in :A -that is my excuse and Im sticking to it  -it has NOTHING to do with wanting to sew -honest :D

Judellie -thats lovely of you thankyou -I will PM you once my cuppa has kicked in and Im slightly more awake. I might even be able to convince hubby to do the rangytang....it is soooo sweet, for years I wanted to go to Borneo to see them -but so many people do it now it just doesn't seem as special :o
Shelly -:T to hubby :T -what a little belter -I bet you were on that PC in seconds :rotfl:
pennib -apart from 2 carl fogarty limited edition pictures on the stair well the only things that go up on our walls are X-stiches ...my cunning plan is to get enough pics up when we move back to the UK in a couple of years that there is no need to decorate very often :rotfl:. I figure the less wall there is to see the better :p
My orange lady is suposed to be going in our bedroom -but I love her that much that I may have to make visitors go and have a look at her when they call :D
    right off to get sorted
    Have a great day everyone
