    Hi everyone,

Haven't posted recently, been too busy stitching!

OMG - s0237276.:j:T:j That scarlettquince site is amazing. I feel the need.....the need to spend money:eek::eek:
You really should not bring these sites to our attention, I've got enough lined up for the next year as it is:eek:
Seriously, if anyone has used this site please could you report back on what they're like, I REALLY like some of those designs.

Will post updates at the weekend.

    Happy stitching

*louise* -I can't believe folks go posting links to places that sell nice things -can you :rotfl:-I have had a look and am glad to say "I can't see anything that I would fancy doing" :j..mind -I haven't looked at everything -but they seemed a bit wishywashy for me -if that makes sense :o...

Tis simply shocking!! Throwing temptation at us all like that

    ;)

I'm not so keep on the 'madonna' painting style stuff they have, but I love the impressionism era and they have some of those paintings charted. :D

I shall resist though...must be good :rotfl:

Has anyone had a problem when trying to order from the acrosstown site?
I want to order a kit and the 20 threads I need but they won't all go in the same basket so I am getting charged 2 lots of p+p.
In one basket I have the kit and the other basket has the 20 threads.

If anyone has any idea what I am doing wrong please let me know :o If not I shall email them tomorrow and see what they suggest.

Having just played about putting things in the shopping cart (and a kit disappearing) have you tried putting the threads in first, then the kit afterwards, that has worked for me, but Kit then threads didn't work.

Weird one, that lol. Might be worth emailing them to say about the problem.

Arrgghh. Just got out bid on the magazine.

So I went to Chickys disc seller and ended up buying two. And paying two lots of postage. I've popped a note on asking if she will post them together but it's my own stupid fault for not noticing before I bought them. Oh well, lesson learned... maybe.

Done quite a bit to the sheep today but not close to finishing, I think that was a bit of early morning optimism. Might be able to finish in the next week though, all being well. Only 3 weeks until I start back to work part time so want to enjoy these days with bubs before our new routine starts. I'm dreading leaving her, I'm such a wuss - I know I'll be in floods of tears in the car park.

I'll report back if the seller of the discs is any good as they are a great cheap way of getting a selection of kits in the same character.

Hope you are all having a lovely day

    Evening all

You lot are a bad influence - I got hardly anything done this afternoon cos I kept sneaking back onto the sewalong site:rotfl:. All in a good cause, though, as I've decided to try and adapt this design to fit the space I've got to work in (will probably stick to head and shoulders only, and leave off the wings)... what do you think?

Can anyone tell me what the differenc is between large and small format? Is it just the size of the pattern or is it the finished article as well?

harley1 - thanks for looking :T. Hope you don't mind me asking - how old is bubs? Hope you don't tear yourself up too much over leaving to go to work... will be thinking of you (and probably asking for coping advice myself later in the year!!)

And before I forget, this is my 'carrot' to keep me working on the rr pieces:

    http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=147106&id=564843810&l=c55ba9c79e

The colours are perfect for my living room and I really want to get it done before the baby arrives... So I'm off to finish my nearly-done piece and maybe I'll get some of the orchids done while I'm waiting for supplies for the other rr piece...

    Hi Louise.

Yeah, I tried threads first then kit but kit went into it's own basket so I tried kit first then threads but then threads went into their own basket.

After tea I'll clear all cookies etc and try again both ways. If no luck i'll drop them an email and see what they suggest.

    Thanks for trying!

Which browser have you used shelley? I had great problems using Firefox, but Internet Explorer was fine.

Admittedly I was only ordering threads, so I can't comment on adding more to the basket. I did order 150 threads, and emailed Louise at AcrossTown attaching a spreadsheet with all the thread numbers that I needed before I ordered online. She replied that same night, saying she had all but two, so she sent the rest and the others will be sent once she has them in.

Louise is one of the great font of knowledge on this thread (Mrs Mcawber is another), so I would follow her advice. You can always get in touch with AcrossTown, even if you email now, you could well get a reply tonight.

    Good luck with your order.

Not done any sewing today...yet! DH has taken DS2 to rugby training tonight, so have had an early tea and once I have done the dishes, I will settle down with the Astronomer...I am onto browns, yellows and golds now, instead of blues and black...much easier to work with!

I will post another piccie after the weekend so you can see my progress.

    Have a good night everyone.

Thanks NannyOgg. Baby is 18 and half weeks. It has been the most wonderful time of my life and I am loving being at home with her. But if we want to keep that home I have to go back to work so I'll just have to bite the bullet (and take a box of tissues in the car).

That magazine went for £4.18. That is more than I paid for the disc including postage.

Thanks for offering the alternative Chicky. See this site is MSE after all. (not counting all the things its made me buy obviously)

NannyOgg - those orchids are lovely! It's great to have something to spur you on with troublesome projects...it's good to have a reward for doing something you have problems finding time to finish.

I am doing this with my housework at the moment :D ...I am now getting lots done before I reward myself with a few hours on my Astronomer (click on the picture to get a better view) in the evening. I only started last Saturday, so it is early days.

As to large and small format, it is the magification of your chart...I think! I chose the large format so it is easier to read...though at 45 pages I have a lot to look at! Mrs M or Louise will come along soon and explain properly no doubt.

Your finished work size will depend on the number of holes-to-the-inch of your fabric.

Just having a 5min break before I get back to the sewing ;)

NannyOgg -Keiss is right -the Format is just how big your chart symbols are printed.... I go for small as I think its just what most standard charts are printed in... I have had a chart with bigger symbols ages ago and I didn't like it :p
If you are planning on copying the chart to work from -you could get small print and enlarge on the copier ;)...Im loving that fairy chart by the way....in fact Im off to look at the others in the set :o-not that I will buy any of course :A
