Afternoon all
I've only got a couple of hours of stitching plus backstitch on one round robin, then I need to get cracking on the other one and that's where I'm hoping you'll all be able to help me. I need a fairly simple design, no bigger than 100 x 100 stitches, and the theme is 'fantasy'... I've been right through my stash and haven't got anything remotely suitable, so any and all pattern suggestions welcome!
TIA
x
How about this gorgeous unicorn - you could use some silver with white and if it is on white aida do half stitches in black around it in a kinda cloud shape.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Chickywiggle you're fantastic :j:j That'll be tons quicker than the HAE one (which means I get to finish my orchids sooner). I was having reservations about the HAE design for the rr as I think it might be too detailed - and I was loath to trim it down... now I can get the cameo and do the whole thing :T Maybe I'll add one of the story keeps to my basket while I'm at it...
Keiss, thanks for advice - that's what I thought. Love the Astronomer! But it'll be a while before I can add something that big to my 'to do' list - I've got two other kits to do once I've got the orchids finished - an eagle design by John Clayton and a Dimensions Gold Samurai that I couldn't keep my eyes off at a craft fair... I'll have to get them done or risk giving offence (they were both Christmas gifts... in 2008!!)
Thanks too to MrsM - and sorry for putting you in the path of temptation again
Dinner is nearly ready now, then I'm going to carry on stitching - am backstitching my first rr now... the end is in sight :j0 -

glad to help..... after the last couple of days i've had I expected you to come back and say there was already a unicorn on there.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Baby is 18 and half weeks...
Yup, that'll be me come November/December this year - unless hubby gets a fantastically well-paid job in the meantime!
Drawback for me is that I'm currently working as a temp (I count my blessings that I wasn't shown the door when I announced I was pregnant!), so there's no guarantee I'll be back working at the same place afterwards
Baby is due in June so I've got another few months at work then I get a bit of time to adjust to parenthood... advice always welcome:)0 -

Funnily enough, it's the only thing missing up to now - and I'm the last contributor0 -
Gosh at this thread....not only is there the temptation for buying but you're all making me broody as well :rotfl:
Better not though - 3 is enough for me
Anyway, I was getting all ready to write up replies then realised the Q's had been answered lol. NannyOgg - Those Orchids are GORGE.....:j Glad you have a unicorn now - will you take a pic of the rr and let us see it at a later date once it's been recieved??
Btw - how did you get involved in a rr in the first place? Question for those of you that have done or are doing a HAE design, how much like the original does the final cross-stitch end up?0

Serendipity really - I was browsing a cross stitch group on Facebook and there were a couple of members lamenting a rr gone wrong - the last stitcher had taken ages to send the piece back to the originator and what they had stitched on it...:eek: I'd have sooner claimed the dog ate it than sent it back to the owner!
Anyways, some of the group members set up a separate round robin group on Facebook and I replied to a message on there asking for people to join in... Some time later and we're close to finishing - heard today my piece is on its way back this weekend :j
I've taken pics of all my rr contributions but haven't uploaded them yet as I'm waiting until all six pieces are back with their owners... will share then
pm me if you want a link to the group...0 -

Sorry, its really quick as I'm trying to do a load of stuff at once. Congratulations. Hopefully work will pan out well for you. Best advice I was given was to be as relaxed and stress free as possible, the cortisone transfers to baby or something. Anyway, I'm pretty much as laid back as it can get and as you saw earlier, she sleeps in late, is the most delightful happy little girl and I wish I had the chance to have a few more.
Anyway, second piece of advice is to only buy the very barest minimum of clothes. People will give you so much and they grow far too quick to wear it all. It is heartbreaking going through the wardrobe when they are a month old and knowing they already won't fit into half of the outfits that you have never even taken out of the packets.
Pop over to the parent thread on here, the ladies are fabulous for advice and recommendations.

Very proud mummy to Gorgeous baby girl - 29/09/09 :j
Thanks to all who directed me to Quidco - £289.30 since Nov 09 :beer:0 -
Hi there Kez
I will be posting my weeks update on my HAE in the morning... but in real life they look even better, I think mine looks exactly the same as the picture :j. *Louise* is doing one of a lady by a lake and I think that looks spot on too:T...I think they have to as there are so many colours and odd stitches in them to get the detail.
If I remember I will take a pic with the picture next to the sewing so you can see what they look like
NannyOgg -its allright -I resisted any more charts...they didn't have the other seasons to go with you fairy anyway-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
