Couldn't find my password book yesterday, so didn't manage to upload the pics to Photobucket.
Here's the pics of Mum opening her Spool Tree pressie. I roughly framed it in the blue frame, but gave her the wood frame too and she's gonna have a play and see what works best in the room it'll be put in.
She loved it and said the irredesant(sp?) fabric reminded her of the snow when we were driving around Derbyshire a few weeks before.
Here's my progress pic for the kit I posted about yesterday. It's stitched on perforated paper, which I've only stitched on once before and that was just a tree decoration. It's got loads of beading too, so won't be finished for this Christmas. It's taking shape, though...Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
12/12/12 challenge-[STRIKE]Season's Greeting Newton's Law[/STRIKE] Christmas polar bear-finished on time!
Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Aww Ruth_Honey, that's brilliant, I always love the warm glow of watching someone opening up a Cross-stitch pressie, especially when they appreciate the time and effort that goes into them.0

OK - its official. I hate metallic thread
Or at least I hate the cheapy stuff that came with Cross Stitcher this month.
I thought I would be a good MSE girl and make some tags... I think it's time to raid my stash and find some normal red green and gold and use that instead. Bah
I finished my cat cushion, and when I feel intelligent I will pop up at pic... anyone remember my flickr password? xx0 -
I hate metallic thread too. The girl in the sewing shop in my village also knows me as the one who hates metallic threads!
I'm still doing my mouse Christmas stocking but I changed the colours of the baubles and used normal thread and blending filament on them instead.0 -
Oooo what's filament....? Does it make it shiney sparkley?
Not that I am going to the craft shop to buy it today, I think I might just put a tiny dab of glue in each corner and sprinkle some glitter on them
EDIT: Ah.... is it this? http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran504-0.html Is it worth the extra effort in your opinion? x0 -

Mum's a stitcher too, so she knows how long it takes & how much love is put into it. I don't really stitch for non stitchers now as it's not appreciated as much as it should be!
Back to stitching my house now...Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Back to stitching my house now...
Know that feeling - stitched a nice 'S isfor son, S is for special' for my nephew which is still languishing in his wardrobe! Am tempted to ask for it back and my ds can have it!
Have been an spent some crimbo money on me and got aida to start my michael powell chapel pic, and december cross stitcher - thanks for the warning about the metallic threads (was thinking of doing one or two tonight but might re-think now). Also got a make your own applique bag from the art shop in town - was only £4.99 and makes a really nice bag. Have found camera lead so will try and get some piccies on here laterMortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Hey
I've done three this afternoon - 1 with metallic, 2 with bits of normal stuff. Don't really look any less good for being in normal thread...
Hang on, I'll try and do a quick photo on my phone....
