I loveee it - don't suppose the chart is still knocking around is it before I google it this evening?? :D Although saying that I *waas* stitching SinL a baby sampler for her newest till everything happened at beginning of the year and I couldn't pick it up - when I explained I found out she was having one stitched by her friend (tactful was't she). So I was thinking of doing it for her wedding at end of next year ..........

Chicky - no, sorry - I stitched this about 9 years ago and I don't still have the chart. I never used to keep the charts or to copy them first so that I could work from a copy.

Oooo what's filament....? Does it make it shiney sparkley?

Not that I am going to the craft shop to buy it today, I think I might just put a tiny dab of glue in each corner and sprinkle some glitter on them :)

EDIT: Ah.... is it this? http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran504-0.html Is it worth the extra effort in your opinion? x

Yes it is indeed. It looks good, not quite as sparkley as metallic but still great. I used yellow filament with yellow thread, red with red etc but for the colours that I didn't have the matching colour filament for, I just used clear and it looks almost as good. Soooo much better than fighting with metallic thread! I'll post a picture of my Christmas stocking when it's done.

Love the cat picture, by the way - that's on my list to do (out of one of my stash of magazines) and I don't even LIKE cats! :D

I find that it's easier to use metallic thread when you need two strands. I use the method of knotting the tread to the needle and I've recently discovered the trick of using a slip of paper the thread the needle, rather than trying to push all the frayed ends through.
  • The cat cushion has turned into a cat in a frame. I couldm't be bothered to make a cushion, so I ventured to the busstop to buy a cushion, and slid right back home again. Pesky ice!

I've finished for xmas now :j:D:j:D:j:D:j so happy !

I treated myself to Cross Stitch Crazy today (I liked the small designs in the free booklet) and I also bought Cross Stitch Collection. The leopard design on the front of Cross Stitch collection has really caught my attention :j and I also liked the flower in vase kits.

The leopard is stitched on linen - is that similar to evenweave ? I think I might stick with aida ! :D

I was going to cook a curry tomorrow but have decide now that I am going to have a relaxing day instead so plan for a bit of housework in the morning then some cross stitch in the afternoon.

I have had some christmas money already and I am very tempted to find more kits to add to my stash but will try very hard to resist :rotfl: as I really don't need any more. Merry Christmas everyone :xmastree: Hope you all get lots of stitching in :xmassmile

edit - I have just been looking at the Dimensions Gold Collection designs -the ones that cost about £40  Some of them are lovely. particularly this one http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&uid=&Prod_Code=60232&ww=on&do=search_results the detail is amazing. I don't think I will be ordering one of these kits anytime soon but out of interest - have any of you stitched something of this magnitude and can advise a stitcher who likes small projects :o what I can expect if I did decide to order one of these kits ?
