I hope everyone is having a lovely Xmas eve. From about mid afternoon I have been stitching my row of cats design. I won't post an update just yet but will do soon. It's the first year for a long time that we have stayed in and I think I have established a new Xmas eve tradition: columbo, cross stitch and a glass of sherry! Happy Christmas everyone.:D

    Hi everyone,
I'm doing ok so far. Think I felt more upset yesterday. Felt a bit low this morning, but started the day by watching the 8 Out Of 10 Cats Christmas special, which was very funny. :rotfl:
Have done pressie opening. Had a lovely top from Grandma (yes, I know, but it was bought before she died, so Mum wrapped it up anyway. Was kind of nice to have it) & hubby bought me some great gifts. All themed...(in the early days I might have been concerned, but he's trained in pressie buying now!;))...I had jewellery-a lovely silver & abalone set of earrings, bracelet & necklace. 4 Drew Barrymore films (one of my fave actresses) and a waffle iron with recipie books. Am I the only woman alive who wouldn't thump her husband for buying a kitchen appliance as a christmas gift??? :D Can't wait to get started on waffle making. We are having them every morning until new year now! :T
The vague plan for lunch before was lasagne. My idea being that it would reheat well if I didn't feel like eating. Didn't want the whole traditional roast dinner thing as I thought it would just upset me. But now DH has decided to cook turkey escallopes (think they're lemon pepper flavour), roast spuds (Aunt Bessies!) and stuffing balls. It might be odd, but it's fine with me. I was all for having waffles...:rotfl:
Anyway, I was hoping for this for Christmas http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&uid=&Prod_Code=70275&ww=on&do=search_results but apparently emailing your husband with the details of where to buy it from isn't obvious enough, so I'll have to treat myself.
Now, should I bother to get dressed, or just get back into my PJs again??? :santa2:

Ruth, I'm so glad to hear that you're doing OK. Your waffle iron sounds great! If my hubby hadn't left this year then I'd have been happy for him to get me a waffle iron, or a cupcake maker, or other fun kitchen thing. I'd thump him if he got saucepans/other vital but boring stuff though.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas. Mine is rather a let down - I work as a carer and I thought it'd be sort of fun to visit all sorts of people on Christmas day but it's been rubbish. I've not heard a single Christmas carol except in my car and hardly anyone has any decorations in their house (except for the tinsel in my hair) and it's been really hard to stay full of Christmas cheer. I've been working since 7am and don't finish until 9.45pm, just enjoying a short break now - think I'll save my presents for tomorrow though, I don't have the energy to open them at the moment.

I wouldnt exactly say this house is filled with Xmas cheer, but you can come over for waffles & wine if you'd like!

  • Ruth_honey that kit is nice (and would be lovely to stitch for next christmas) meanie hubby (but I know the feeling) - however a waffle iron is quite cool. i got lots of pressies - all off my xmas list so no surprises - boringgggg.

gonna pack boy off to bed now and get my stitching out me thinks - still stufffed from dinner but the chicken i cooked was soooo amazing i think i may have a minni chicken n mash tea.

ohh Elliep, i bet you made their day tho if you were all they saw. my dad rang this morning (first xmas he's been divorced for). said he'd gone to his mates house and his mate had no decs, no tree, no pressies and about 5 cards it was horrible............. on the plus side it was the first christmas he could watch tv and not do any washing up :rotfl:

ohh and I had a PJ day. noah (bump) has spent the whole day jumping around i think he was rather excited........ roll on next christmas.
