Ooh elliep I'm so jealous. I live in a flat with no bath and I do miss having one. Can anyone post me the link for the facebook group? I love farmville as well but refuse to spend real money on it but would love some more neighbours :D

Well, I've failed miserably to hit my target of stitching Christmas cards for the "Top 10" on my card list. I've finished just one pic of a robin but not managed to make it up into a card.

So that is my first challenge for 2011 - get all 10 stitched by end June and made up into cards by end Nov.

I had some bad news last week. Someone who I worked with for many years (since 1994 I think) has been diagnosed with liver cancer at the age of 42. He has always been a big strong beefy bloke, never had a day off sick, played sport etc etc. He's having several chemo treatments before/after Christmas then will be assessed for any other "appropriate" treatment.

oh hugs eric's mum :grouphug: thats not nice news to receive :(.

i'm stuck at home today - the poor weather has put paid to me getting into work - I just hope it clears up so I can at least make it in tomorrow/the rest of the week. Its annoying because the weather is worse today than it was at the weekend. I wonder what its going to be like over xmas :snow_grin

I hope everyone is keeping safe and staying warm.

That's such terrible news, Eric's Mum, hope it all goes well for him.

I've done a bit of stitching this weekend, just got one mouse, two reels and all the backstitch to do. Then I need to figure out how to use the sewing machine... !
  • Hugs Eric's mum, that's awful news :(

Well I haven't been able to do any stitching on my teddy because I'm stuck in Fife (I live near Portsmouth!). I was supposed to catch the 4pm train from Edinburgh today but it's been cancelled so we will have to take it day by day until we're able to get home! Luckily we're staying with my Mum so at least we don't have hotel bills to pay :T

I brought a Sarah Kay kit with me which I started on the train up but I haven't done enough to warrant a pic.

I hope you are all warm and safe :)

my *enforced* day at home has meant that I have finished going round the aida for my row of cats design and have done the first nine stitches :j

    see here

umm not sure how to add a picture ? will be back

edit - I have added the picture to our flickr group. not sure how to add the picture here also - can anyone advise ??

I haven't enjoyed my day at home and I am worried that it will be the same tomorrow. I don't fancy ice skating to work and really not sure what to do if the weather is as bad tomorrow as it has been today.

A Bothy Threads Kit that I fell in love with called A Row of Cats. This is my xmas project.
This photo shows the first nine stitches of the design. I have also gone round the aida edge to stop the material fraying although you can't see this because I have used white thread.
The cat that I have started is called Chester. I think I am going to work on the basis that I complete a whole cat (backstitch and all) before moving on to the next cat.
I shall share my stitching progress :-0)
