Also have a couple of anniversery items to do - maybe best doing them ahead of time so I have them done. (my parents are 40 years married and hubbys are 50 years). Got the patterns - just need to get thread and material.
That's a good plan, Sweetcarer, I completed a 40th anniversary cross-stitch for my ex-fiance's parents in 2005 (off with a broken leg) to give them in 2007 a whole two years before it was needed. But it gave a good opportunity to concentrate on it and also get it professionally framed. I don't think I have a picture of it completed, but it was this one:

Sewandso have got a January sale going on:

Well, at last I have got back onto the computer! I have been so busy sewing the past few days. :j

I have spent time this morning catching up with various threads while uploading my piccies...they aren't very exciting atm...lots of black and navy...it has driven me potty!! That and making a few mistakes - I spent most of Sunday unpicking and re-sewing...aaargh!!

So here are the first images from my sewing weekend...they haven't come out very well, not that there is much contrast in real life either though! The latest has black, two shade of blue and two shades of purple believe it or not! Trust the middle of the design to have lots of shadows!! Mind you I will have to get used to it, as I should be going through 15 skeins of black in this project!!!

I got a daylight bulb yesterday, which has really helped me a lot. Being energy-saving it doesn't give off much heat, so I can have the light really near to my work and head.

Right back to it, or rather lunch, then a bit more sewing...will fill in the odd gaps, then start on something much brighter...the black can wait! :D

    Happy sewing everyone.

    Hi Keiss -thanks for posting

    :jit's underway!!!:j:D

Looking closely at that, you really don't need to worry about the fabric between the stitching, one it all comes together you won't even notice it at all.

How are you getting on with your fabric that way? Looks like you have it 'in the well', I've never tried putting it that way on a lap frame - does it tighten up well enough??

Here's to the next year of your life........;):D:T

Thanks Louise - I have it in the frame the other way now...not sure why I chose to do it the other way initially. I took the clips off in the evening, and when I came to put it in the next day, I preferred it the other way, and you're right about tightening it!

Had lunch now and have other things to do before I will let myself get back to it....otherwise I would do nothing but sewing all day :D!!!

Having regular breaks is better for my back and my eyesight too....never mind my sanity!!

:T:Tfor Keiss and *Louise* -some progress there folks :j
I have finished that chunk of pattern I started on Friday -so now I get to move onto another :j.... after this one I will have 2 pieces left

I have been pondering...as I WAS going to do patterns at once next -santa during the day and the Golden earth (orange lady) in the evening... but I might now just do the orange lady (so I don't end up with another UFO:p)..will ponder on it a bit longer ;)

Im determined not to buy that "ruby" HAE chart.... because by the time I get around to it Im sure they will have bought out even nicer designs :rotfl:
I promise not to try and lead you all astray again -honest :D-oooh *louise* -I don't suppose one of the new ones you liked was "moon goddess" was it? I think she is lovvvvely :o
