Good news on the olds front - they have managed to find a furnished flat in their village 10 mins walk from their soggy bungalow and the insurance are happy with the pirce and they should be able to move in next week:j
Also good news is that I am really tired and have left all my school work where it belongs (at school) so I have an evening of stitching to look forward to if I can persuade small people to go to sleep:TMortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000

whoo hoo dora that's great news about your parents . Best thing short of being able to go back to their own place.
Sweetcarer i do hope that things start picking up for you soon. I will be really hoping for much better luck for both you and your other half . Can't wait to see more of your stitching too.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

just looked at Bubbles profile - she was online on the 6th december (i think) but has only posted 1 post since she last came on this thread.... hope she's ok.
Sorry peeps have only skimmed the posts and brain isn't functioning enough to retain information. Was back at work today after nearly a month off - bit of a shock the system as the girl who job shares with me chose to take the day off (she rang in this am) so i didn't even have time to catch up on work changes before i was thrown in the deep end.
sooo want to stitch but i have a farm calling me to go harvest/ plow and plant........loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

hey, less of that! less of the apologising, (you're not moaning anyway), and yes, more of the stitching!
hope she's ok. hope she's still reading along and stitching lots, just not in the mood to talk. thats fine. hello bubbles if that's what you're up to!
i've had a look at the website of the shop Ruth recomends, and it looks great. i really like the look of the baking and sewing samplers, but at 32 quid they're out of my price range. that's for the full kit, i've never bought a big one, how's the price seem to you? has anyone stitched either before?

:snow_grin i like this little chap. he looks quite like me right now! too plump and with a scarf on indoors!
The sewing sampler kit is indeed by Bothy Threads and I echo that their kits are absolutely lovelyThe sewing sampler appeals to me also - its bright and although its huge, the designs are small so I don't think you would lose interest. sewand$o sell it - with 20% off so you get the kit for about £25.00 which is still pricey but just about an ok price. I paid £45 odd pounds for a kit once ! I can't justify buying it at the moment but will perhaps consider it when I have a bit of spare cash or for my birthday next year. I have quite a few kits I have bought recently so must do those first !! plus the kits mentioned in my challenge ...

Well, I am failing miserably with my sampler, haven't touched it in 3 weeks. Problem is, is needs lacing onto the frame and I can't pluck up the energy to do that. Have dropped heavy hints to OH about a clip frame for Christmas. We'll see. But some very exciting news, I sent off a picture of some baby slippers I made from CrossStitcher a couple of months ago and I got an email yesterday asking for my address as they are going to put my picture in their letters section and send me a wee gift! How exciting is that! Or am I just a bit sad for getting excited about that? Anyway, can't remember if I posted for you lot to see but here they are again -
We've got birthdays out of the way with now, my daughter was 3 on Tuesday last, so was all chaotic here for a while - but her favourite present was a little sewing basket all of her own from my Mum! With wool, plastic bodkins, binca and some lacing cards with string! She sees me sewing sometimes, and now we can sit and sew together. She also got a pair of fairy wings and we had some long discussions about whether they can be worn in bed or not...
More later, bread to make and cleaning to do. Boo...

Dear ab7167,
Those bootees are absolutely beautiful, I can't believe how neat and even you've got the blanket stitch round the edge. I hope they won't be worn, they should be kept for years in the baby's memory box.
Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame in the magazine - you are certainly not "sad", it's one of life's little pleasures and they are always worth savouring. Make sure you keep a copy of the mag as well, in your own memory box!
Linda xx (sorry, I've always been a bit sentimental)

i was too exhausted and stressed to stitch last night. and i slept in till 10.30  am a bit worried it's all getting to me a bit too much. feel more posative about today, but that's probably as i'm not at work. trip out to the cobblers to get my boots fixed, maybe asda, and then some stitching. that should help i hope.sewand$o sell it - with 20% off so you get the kit for about £25.00 which is still pricey but just about an ok price. I paid £45 odd pounds for a kit once !
thanks for the info! 25 is much better; i might see if santa has any spare cash, but as i've a list as long as my arm i want to stitch from mags i ready have, so probably shouldnt. maybe a used chart will appear on ebay if im lucky.Or am I just a bit sad for getting excited about that?
:T :T :T bravo!!! i'd be so chuffed if that were me! so i'm really chuffed it's you!! they look so sweet! :T :T :T you'll have to tell us which mag it's in.
