It started off ok. I'm feeling a bit better, so thought I'd get my stitching out & finish off the last bit of backstitching. That's now done!
    http://i917.photobucket.com/albums/ad11/Honey_4/My%20cross%20stitch/SpooltreeforMum.jpg

Then I got a call from my stepmum. She wanted to know if I knew my Dad's passwords for the computer. I don't know if any of you remember, but back in April, I suspected my Dad of cheating and when I called him to find out, he admitted it. Apparently he told his wife in October and they are going to split up, although he's refusing to move out. Anyway, she was upset and trying to find out more info because he's gone away for the weekend and she's convinced he's with another woman. He's said it's over with this other woman & claims he's gone away with a mate, but we all know he's lying.
I told her to change the locks and not let him back, but I doubt she'll do that. I'm so upset. He's a lying, cheating pig and I want nothing to do with him anymore. I'm having a hard enough time as it is what with christmas coming up and not having Grandma here for it. I keep going from wanting to smash things up, to sobbing...
There's not really anyone here I can turn to, so thought I'd come and rant to my online friends. Thanks for listening. It feels good to get it out.

hugs ruth_honey. lots of. and hugs for your stepmum too. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: . I don't really know what to say so just have lots of hugs xxx

I have finished work for the week :j I am hoping this weekend will be more relaxing than last weekend. I feel ready for bed already and think I could quite happily sleep the whole weekend away !

Tomorrow, I might be having a home delivery shop from Mr T and I plan to tidy up and do the housework in the morning and then sit down with some cross stitch in the afternoon. :j Lots of cross stitch planned for Sunday while my OH puts up the :xmastree:

have a fab stitching weekend all :D

4 on demand if it's desperate. Or omnibus on Sunday...
Hate when I miss my programmes, so all the online catch ups and repeats are sooooo useful.

Thanks for all the hugs everyone. Feeling a bit better now. Gonna watch Sex & the City 2 in a minute. Pure fluff!!! :-)

I meant online anyway. I thought you could go back later than one day with 4OD-but admit that I've not tried watching Hollyoaks online, so not certain. Just looked on SeeSaw & they seem to have quite a few old episodes-useful in the future, maybe? Found out last night that series 1-7 of Bad Girls is available free on there too. It's being repeated on Sky (CBS Drama???) at the moment but had so many episodes that we ran out of space on the planner & I've discovered I've not got series 5, 7 or 8 on DVD.

Had a quiet night with hubby watching Sex & The City 2 (not the best choice given the day I've had-won't spoil the plot though) and drinking Gluwein (sp?) with extra booze added. Can't remember what it was, but bought it at the German christmas markets last year & the women said it's nice added to Gluwein. It's 20% and tastes like apples & spice. Hic! Off to bed now. Night all...and thanks again...xxx

oh dear Ruth, so sorry to hear this is coming to a head. i do remember you saying ages ago about it, and i guess these things can't go on forever so there's bound to be a 'crunch' point. what a shame it's right before xmas though.

we're always listening. i'm glad you can be there for your stepmum, that must be so reasuring for her. *hugs* for you both.

your 'spool tree' is awesome! i couldnt picture what you meant; it's just brilliant! :T

i'll second the 'it's not right without grandma' sentiment. my nan was the centre of things, more of a mother than my real one; without her it's all feeling somewhat contrived and meaningless. can't we just skip it and go straight to easter? :easter:

Thank you. The spool tree looks so much nicer in real life too. It was seeing it stitched up that made me buy it. I don't think I would've bothered seeing the pic on the chart. Hope Mum likes it too.

Skipping straight to Easter would be great. Christmas always revolved around Grandma and I think only Mum & myself really see that. No-one else seems that bothered that christmas will never be the same again. Perhaps they're adjusting easier than us. My brother has gone to his fiance's family for xmas day lunch the past few years anyway, my cousin has a new boyfriend & has gone to South Africa with him for the month and my Auntie is newly engaged so will be loved up with her fiance. My hubby has started talking about getting food in for christmas, but I don't want a roast dinner. I'm not even sure I'll bother getting out of bed that day. It really does just seem so pointless. How do you get through it? I'm dreading it.

Ok, that's it! Enough crying! Off to bed and stop thinking about it all....sorry girls....

I'm sorry for your troubles Ruth honey. My nan died ten years ago and my mums side of the family has drifted apart ever since. Its like she was the glue that kept everything together. Sending hugs your way. X

  • My Christmasses used to be me, mum and dad. Dad passed away in June 1997 and yes those first couple of Christmasses were hard, but it's get easier over time. We recently started to have Christmas with my aunt, uncle and cousin, so that's starting a new tradition.

    *big hugs*

    Hi
I've just spent an hour reading dozens of pages on this thread, I've worked backwards to page 263 and must stop now. Can I ask a couple of (probably daft) questions please?

What is a UFO, I keep seeing this mentioned

Secondly, I'm not in the UK just now, I'm away volunteering. I brought my stitching with me but I've not done much yet, no time. I have used many of my threads for other things - their need is greater than mine.

Now I want to replace and stock up. I'm not that experienced. Is it really worth paying extra to buy e.g. Anchor or are they all about the same? Are there any makes which are best avoided? I can have them posted to UK or here.

    Many thanks
Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me
